  1. yeah if your lucky enough to be that close to McD like that, if you don't lift his stick especially from behind and he's not aware of it then that and only that would stop what happened.. unbelievable......
  2. Heck I'd work for good grass, as long as it's as good as AK-47 or Rockstar.. death bubba would be preferable but certainly NOT cheap! I'd be down for that, well I mean down on the couch!
  3. have no idea either, all I can do is shrug. I'd have preferred someone with a boatload of proven NHL experience but with a resume like that, I don't see why not. Seems talented enough to do whatever job they give. I'm mixed I guess but I can see where a lot of what she brings to the table will come in handy for us and I'm certainly not opposed to it. If a hockey man like JR thinks she can then good enough.
  4. sometimes I swear this team is cursed, we go on a roll, get stopped, continue, start on a roll again with a walking wounded team and now down 3 goalies? like wtf???? If it's not one thing it's another ffs! grrrr!
  5. How about Jim Benning, heard he's pretty good but can't do it all himself, he needs a mentor like JR and now has no worries about the coach being the right guy. Has my vote! As long as JR had to approve his every move.. I'd be down for that. p.s. flame away lmao!
  6. thinking the Oilers because they've been around longer to hate more... and my edm cousin rubbed it in about their cups every chance he could.. however my top three hates are MTL EDM CGY in that order...
  7. well it's not like we can't throw a sweetner in right? oh and part of me is chuckling because I thought everyone said we got ripped on that Miller deal that JB pulled off.. Glad he played so well it shut everyone up AND brought a "consistency model" player which we needed more of, was a heads up move by JB...
  8. that is not over paying Miller.. He's the best all around forward we have, paying him market rate is not over paying! and I said trade Garland for a D and package a salary dump player WITH him..
  9. Ok so correct me if I'm wrong but is everyone thinking Garland is worth nothing? I'd package him with another roster player for salary dump to go along with it and sign a 2nd pairing D and pocket the cap dump and bank it for Millers re-sign when time to re-up him... But sticking to my point, I'd trade Garland long before Miller imo..
  10. depending on how much he likes it here, I'd say start at 7 mil with his agent and take it from there.
  11. Omg I read that online that the Rangers are after JT and the answer should be a flat out NO F'N WAY! Demko and Miller especially should be tops on the list of hands off and find other ways to shore up the D than trading our top guy next to Demko, JT has the compete level that every coach wishes he had up and down the line-up and a skillset that is elite that doesn't come along everyday. So just NO! some other way... any other way...
  12. Stole one? Whoa hello! LARCENY in the 10th degree, I expected a game where Mikey D was the starter and we'd get smoked and not do Mikey's development any favours but we had to have someone in and actually I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard about Martin since I'd rather see Mikey against a not so good team and get his confidence going. Anyway, wow the boys came out to play tonight and without Dem, JT, Hamonic, and Bo out, makes you wonder what that game against the Panthers would have looked like. And flame away at this part because honestly I don't give a F so giving full credit to JB for putting together a team with a ton of potential and only inches away from being finished with the right tweaks we need and almost taking down FLA with a B roster is pretty damn impressive!
  13. anyone who could help our 3rd pairing or depth for it.. Haven't kept an eye on Mikey D recently and not sure if he's put in much time with Ian but i think so, and it's time we got another look at him and see how he reacts to the pressure will be a good indication of how far his development has brought him. Edit.. hmmm 13 games played for Abby and a 3.19 GAA and a 0.89% are certainly not eye opening by any stretch but can also be a misleading stat depending on the overall team D as well as the Dmen in front of him and the D is Abby is average-ish, but other things too, so who knows. Guess we're probably going to see by the looks of it... but wow talk about out of the frying pan into the fire! FLA is not the team you want to put him out against but... what do you do right?
  14. omg we hung out that kid to dry that night... that was sooo bad, however bouncing back up and learning to be humbled by it and push oneself even harder is the sign of a mentally tough individual and at his age at the time is saying something!
  15. Maybe Mikey can play lights out and get traded to edm for another Dman. They need a goalie bad.. I know, I know, what's new right?
  16. man I'd just be happy to see what a full healthy team would look like for a change, and another year and upgrades where needed would do... I think people are mistaken when they think JB didn't have a really good team on the ice that was/is a lot closer and potential to be a top 10 team in the league but what we need isn't easy to find or cheap unless we luck out, size and skilled players who can stand up in the playoffs when things get nasty and Garland, Hughes, and Hoglander will be as big of targets as Petey etc and if we don't get the right players for pushback when necessary... history will repeat itself yet again and no cup.. I hope JR can pull something off because Bruce can only do so much with what he's given.
  17. Vancouver media and fans (the stupid ones) have nothing better to say or do obviously, it shouldn't surprise you but if you pay attention long enough you'll get used to it and expect it.
  18. because of the 4 guys in front of him and point shots with screens especially, which ANY goalie in history would have problems with, hard to stop shots you can't see...
  19. awww on both counts, I remember waiting for the b.c. lions games (playoff games) was counting the seconds, painfulllll but not as bad as having to miss a game, get well soon Deb!
  20. Ummm It shouldn't hurt that much on OJ but should in a way, not THAT much though, due to his injury, he just can't pivot quick enough so has to rely on positioning but gets caught out frequently and can't catch a speedy player to the outside. Also we have to remember we're out a top 4 D as well with Ham being out and that would hurt most teams not named FLA TB etc. However it's 3rd pairing consistent D men with skill size and bite. Players we have in the system like Woo on D and Klim on F might change things up soon but when is a guess.. One thing to note and it doesn't matter what some people seem to think but FLA and Vancouver are very different markets especially with Canadian teams having to pay more to lure players away from the big names or settle for the scraps and hope they work out. If it was just that easy to look into a crystal ball and see who will work out and who won't is a educated risk at best in reality and since no GM has one, you just have to take them, like it or not. So I don't think it's fair to compare FLA and our boys to start off with plus the uncertainty makes nothing but a crap shoot. Our hope lies with a guy whose been at it a long time and ultimately needs to be able to pull something off to get the last few holes left that JB had left to fill to finish off this team and really make a run at it. I just hope he toughens us up, a highly skilled team is one thing but what happens in a all out hard hitting, rough playoff series to the cup? usually that team gets crushed, without balance, no cup.
  21. that's a LOT of assuming, the bubble Petey first off was someone who didn't have the pressure of being signed for millions, then off for all that time in between, finally he got back BUT he had all that time to put way to much pressure on himself, let alone media and fans.. What was the problem could only be solved with time, yes he'll be back with a vengence but too bad it took so much time but hopefully it was only equal to a softmore slump until now and done, over with. A player of his level and drive can only be down for so long...
  22. We definately miss Hamonic on his game.. our bigger problem though (or close to it) is forwards losing point coverage trying to help out the D which is killng us because the timing has to be perfect to get to the point Dman if he gets passed to and it's a huge concern because other teams forwards collapse looking for rebounds and do screens. This has to change, we got exposed for it finally and could have lost games in the win streak as it was a problem then but Demko, well was Demko BUT we need to be better positionally and pass faster especially on the power play and put a guy to the front of the net.. sooner or later the goals will come in bunches if that gets solved.
