BowTie
If the LA Kings are able to bring in Parise they would tear through the west, their team already has soo much young talent in their organization.

I would love to have Parise on our team, but the chances are slim, we cant afford another player in his bracket for the long run, especially if we seize ourselves a nice shiny cup this year <img src='/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif">http://forum.canucks.com/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Mannimal Hoetruck
Parise for Schneider, Schroeder and a 1st (30th) ?
Bananas
Trade would obviously include Schneider and our first. Whatever prospects may be included, blah blah blah. Sedin, Sedin, Burrows Raymond, Kesler, Parise Hodgson, Malhotra, Hansen Glass, LaPierre, Oreskovich Hamhuis, Bieksa Edler, Sauve Ballard, Tanev Luongo Lack If the incredibly improbable event that Parise ends up here this is what a line-up could looks like. In all likelyhood, we would probably need 2 rookie D-men for cap reasons. I have confidence in both of those players.

Ilya Mikheyev
Recent update: Confirming what Zach Parise told me via e-mail earlier this week, agent Wade Arnott said today that there is “nothing to report” on contract talks with the Devils. Wade Arnott (Jason’s brother) said he spoke with Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello after the team’s season ended, but there has been nothing since then. “(Lamoriello) said they were going to have their internal (end of season) meetings and he was awaiting some direction on the whole ownership situation and once he had that he would reach out to us,” Wade Arnott said. “So, that’s where we stand.” Lamoriello, who I have not been able to reach for comment so far today, has said repeatedly in the past that the team’s ownership situation will in no way impact how he conducts business. Parise has been working out and skating at Prudential Center since the season ended and plans to head home to Minnesota at the end of next week. He is slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1. The first pivotal date, however, is June 15 or 48 hours after the completion of the Stanley Cup Finals (whichever comes later). That is the deadline for teams to file for team-elected arbitration.
GrassyPonderous
Once player or team have filed for arbitration, the player can no longer be traded or be subject to an offer sheet until after the arbitration hearing has concluded... Correct?
Kent.S
I'm excited for our off season with the cap possibly going up 3 mill. If I'm not mistaken ballard is making 4.2, and samuelson is making 2 mill. That's 7.2 mill that's not playing for us right now. Also if it goes up 3 mill that's 10.2 mill we can spend. Resign bieksa ehrhoff, for 3.5-4.0 mill, I assume there going to take a discount for the home team. We could trade Schneider and ballard for parise, maybe offer a 2nd rounder to make sure Sedin Sedin Burrows Raymond kesler parise Higgins malhotra Hansen Hodgson lappiere Torres Hamhuis Bieksa Elder Ehrhoff Salo tanev Sign salo for 1 mill,

sixwings
I think 4.2 for Bieksa and 5.3 for Ehrhoff would be a lot. Worst case scenario really. Remember that Bieksa has been BAD for the last 2-3 years and inconsistent this year. The playoffs this year is the only thing keeping him afloat. I would not be surprised to see him signed for the around the same as now. I would love to get Parise but it would require trading Schneider, Raymond, 1st, probably Hodgson, Ballard, we would also need to get rid of sammy for cap purposes. Gollumpus
I would hope for something like this: CAPGEEK.COM CAP CALCULATOR FORWARDS Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Alexandre Burrows ($2.000m) Zach Parise ($5.500m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) / Chris Higgins ($2.000m) Cody Hodgson ($1.666m) / Manny Malhotra ($2.500m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.500m) Raffi Torres ($1.100m) / Maxim Lapierre ($1.000m) / Victor Oreskovich ($0.600m) Tanner Glass ($0.650m) DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.500m) Alexander Edler ($3.250m) / Christian Ehrhoff ($5.000m) Chris Tanev ($0.900m) / Aaron Rome ($0.750m) Ryan Parent ($0.925m) GOALTENDERS Roberto Luongo ($5.333m) / Eddie Lack ($0.900m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $62,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $61,774,999; BONUSES: $1,060,000 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $425,001 Schneider, Raymond, Ballard and Samuelsson would be gone in various deals. This also assumes that Parise, Erhoff and Bieksa (as well as the other free agents) would sign for what is listed. If Hodgson was part of a package to get Parise then I would want something more than just Parise, and it would have to be more than just a salary dump for the Devils. regards, G. Mike Vanderhoek
Or the Canucks could just steer clear of Parise, good player but unless there is a big shuffle in the lineup I don't see Parise being someone the Canucks bring in.

Really it comes down to ehrhoff or parise with all the good defensive prospects we have adding parise would set our top two lines as two of the best in the league for years to come. raymond schneider 1st possible prospect for parise
iLLmAtlc
Fun to dream but I don't think we could realistically get him. If the sweepstakes ever opened the Devils would be getting all sorts of great young players thrown at them that we couldn't really compete with IMO. For example, what if ANH packages Bobby Ryan or if LA packages Brayden Schenn and a few more from their wealth of prospects? Would Pittsburgh even think about giving up Malkin to get him and save like potentially $3 million in cap space?

bure-shirokov
No you don't. world class players are traded quite often for just pics and prospects. I really can't think of a recent superstar that has been traded for huge impact players. the devils really don't have bargaining power here, sure they could start a bidding war but every nhl team knows about the situation so there not going to offer top dollar. Ballard, raymond 1st is a solid package and if another prospect was included i would be surprised.
Kent.S
^^ MG said he would never trade his top prospects, were trying to model after the redwings and trade our players who expendable. I really don't thing coho or schroeder will be touched

Bieksafan13
Don't think 4 mil is good enough for Ehrhoff's asking price. ~5M is more like it. This is my dream trade for Parise - assuming we trade away enough picks along with Raymond, Ballard, Samulesson, Schroeder/Hodgson for him. According to Cap Geek: FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Alexandre Burrows ($2.000m) Zach Parise ($5.500m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.500m) Raffi Torres ($1.200m) / Manny Malhotra ($2.500m) / Maxim Lapierre ($1.100m) Aaron Volpatti ($0.612m) / Zenon Konopka ($1.000m) / Victor Oreskovich ($0.650m) Kellan Tochkin ($0.531m) DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.200m) Alexander Edler ($3.250m) / Christian Ehrhoff ($5.300m) Aaron Rome ($0.750m) / Chris Tanev ($0.900m) Ryan Parent ($0.925m) / Yann Sauve ($0.875m) GOALTENDERS Roberto Luongo ($5.333m) / Cory Schneider ($0.900m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $61,500,000; CAP PAYROLL: $60,726,944; BONUSES: $237,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $773,056 EDIT: This is also assuming we are extremely lucky to get Bieksa AND Ehrhoff to take discounts at 4.2M and 5.3M respectively. Aixtek
Wow Fail post, Parise makes 3.5, Hansen wont be on the second line, no way Sauve will be in the lineup, Konopka will get more than $1 mill and he sucks anyway. Parise wont be dealt for that package unless Schneider is coming back. Why would they want old Samuelsson, overpaid Ballard, no hockey sense Raymond and a prospect who has failed to live up to expectations in Hodgson and Schroeder. You are not trading a package of crap for a top 5 winger in the game. Why in holy hell is Tochkin in there? The kid isnt even good enough for the WHL, he is horrible prospect and will never play a game in the NHL especially on the best team in the league. You deserve a negative just for that.
