If Luongo (or Schneider) hasn't been traded by the 10th overall (TB) pick then he won't be traded until after the draft. Gillis likely won't be looking to get #1 picks for next year in this deal, unless they are a throw-in by the other team, as their potential value will go down with the acquisition of Luongo (or Schneider). regards, G. I hate when the people on tsn keep saying "when will luongo be traded" or "who will luongo get traded to". I don't recall MG ever saying he was trading luongo. Remember that Lou has control over which teams he is wiling to go to, likely a team in the EST zone for easier travel to Montreal and Florida. If Burke offers crap for Lou, then Lou stays and Schneids goes somewhere. We need more than moving up in the draft (Toronto's #5 pick) to be a real contender (second line winger to set-up Kesler, third line center, gritty fourth liners, and a top 4 right-sided D-man). Luongo will start the first 2 games of the season, play terribly (as he always does in October), then Schneider will take over until December. Luongo will get the bulk of games until February, then Schneider will take over again with his hot play and cool off around playoff time when it's Luongo's time to shine. We need both goalies to get us through 100 games because the team that wins the Cup is the team that gets hot at the right time, and we have a much better chance of getting hot in the playoffs if we have two goalies playing on-and-off.
