Apricot
With the whole Hodgson fiasco behind us and Jordan Schroeder looking to be a bust if he doesn't make the team this year I'm really worried about our cupboard being empty. While Kassian may turn out to be a quality player I still have my reservations on him. If he does live up to his potential I see him being like Keith Primeau type not Eric Lindross. The only player that we have truly developed into a mega superstar is Pavel Bure. Schneider has the potential but only time will tell. The point I'm trying to get at is that our organization has drafted abysmally. Look at Philadelphia, now they have future SUPERSTARS IN THE MAKING. And by superstar I mean top 5 player in the league i.e CROSBY, MALKIN, WEBBER, GIROUX, OVECHKIN The Sedins are very good players but they are not SUPERSTARs. The only reason they are so great is because they feed off each and have chemistry. We saw Henrick wasn't as good when Daniel was injured.

ice3u3
this doesnt even deserve a thread we got Bure and the Sedins?? who cares about guys like kassian and schroeder they are young they dont need any pressure on them until later

Dion Phaneuf
Only legit superstar from 1985 onwards: Pavel Bure Stars from 1985 onwards: Trevor Linden Henrik Sedin Daniel Sedin - drafted by Vancouver - spent a good amount of their career here * I don't consider 45 players in the league as superstars, kinda drains the meaning IMHO

Master Mind
I think only people who have actually watched a game of hockey should be able to make threads... this is just terrible. Sedins, Naslund, Bertuzzi, etc.

Brick Tamland
The question you should have asked is "have the Canucks ever had a top 5 draft pick turn into a top 5 player?" The answer is yes, Henrik and Daniel...
D-Money
WARNING: This is gonna hurt, but... Developed Neely to the point of breaking out, and then traded him. Bure seems obvious, but that guy was sensational from the moment he landed in North America. We didn't have to develop anything. Really, all management had to do was appreciate him and not screw him around. Mission: FAILED.

Drakrami
Your words make logic throw up. Henrik Sedin. Daniel Sedin. Markus Naslund. Many more, but im only listing top five in the league.
oldnews
Mopey. Thread is mopey. With Hodgson gone, so are the chances of developing another "mega superstar"... What is a mega superstar by the way? Is that bigger than a Big Gulp? Primeau was a consistent 25-30 goal scorer / 50-60 point player, and a +124 over his career - wouldn't be so terrible if Kassian "only" turns out to be as good as Primeau. One thing about top 5 players in the league - there are only 5 of them - (Hart winners are generally considered #1). Anyway, obsessing over "superstars" = noob. nucklehead2
"And by superstar I mean top 5 player in the league i.e CROSBY, MALKIN, WEBBER, GIROUX, OVECHKIN" players like Crosby,Malkin and Ovechkin would have been superstars regardless, they were "superstars" before they got drafted. They weren't really "developed" I don't think Webber was really either. Not sure about Giroux. Not our fault we don't suck enough to get number draft picks. Burnsey
Schroeder (sp?) looking to be a bust? I doubt that. A bust is a player that gives up on his hockey career, as far as I'm aware this guy is doing all he can to make the team next year. As for the superstar topic, all I can really say is SEDINS. I guess 2 art ross winners doesn't qualify as a superstar?
