sampy
I just finished reading one of Bure's biographies and figured this was a good place to share some facts: - in Canucks first 18 year of existance they had 16 picks in the top 9 and only 1 player became a productive NHLer, Cam Neely, whom they traded within a year. - Canucks management screwed Bure around from day 1. -True Bure always wanted to be one of the highest paid. -Burke, Quinn and McPhee did everything possible to try and rip Bure off. Paying in CDN funds, withholding bonuses, threatened to hold him out, created false rumours. -they never helped Bure flee from Russia and when he arrived didn't meet up with him for over 2 weeks. It was a massive deal in those days that Bure fled, his families safety was a major concern from the mafia. -Bure had a revolving door of line mates and never played with a true playmaker. Larionov was only with the Canucks for 1 year with Bure. -Canucks almost got Shanahan as compensation from Blues for Nedved. -Jeff Brown supposedly slept with McLean wife and was considered very lazy. -Messier literally traded Vancouver's entire team away when he arrived. As captain he was supposed to stick up for his teammates but instead spent most of his time in Keenan's office asking to trade various players. Within a year of Messier's arrival, Keenan with influence from Messier had traded away every Canuck from the 94 team except for 3.
lowest common denominator
How about the VAn city media? Why are some of them so hostile towards the organization? Their relentless over magnification of ridiculous "problems" and "issues" is a detriment to the team at times, usually towards the end of the season and the playoffs. Why can't they be more unbiased and professional? Is it because they are actually fans like the rest of us or have they had their little egos bruised by management? D.Doughty
Why didn't we sign Scott Niedermayer in the offseason when he had said he was interested in playing here?
lowest common denominator
The newest curiosity is Dan "The Sieve" Cloutier. Who invited him back into the fold? I was so happy when he finally left and now he's back as a goaltending coach?! gahhhh

lowest common denominator
Maybe we should get some professional media in here who don't have an emotional stake in the team then. They go looking for stories and issues when there are none and then things get blown out of proportion and it is bound to become a distraction in the locker room, especially with the weaker minded members. TOMapleLaughs
Bure's legs were like tree trunks, but why accuse him while Todd Bertuzzi gets a pass? After the raging incident, the olympic flop, and the huge slide and weight loss in his career after the incident, he'd be far more suspect. winacup
Yes, when you have creeps taking the bus into town from the burbs in the afternoon with a backpack full of Molotov cocktails it really doesn't matter what the final score is. It's going to happen regardless. It was either Neidermeyer or re-sign Naslund. They went with Naslund. P.S. why does spell check want to change Neidermeyer to "SpiderMonkey"? Franz Liszt
My curiosity is this: Do you think once we lost game 3 and/or 4 of the 2011 Cup Finals, that our players basically gave up and wanted to go home?
