Canuck or Die
Say what you want about trading away a good prospect, the Penguins just solidified their place in the Cup finals with this move. This is the ballsy sort of deal MG has to make - trade away our future for our current Cup chances. This team is not going to contend at all in 3 or 4 seasons, so we might as well trade it all for a shot at it now or next season. Pittsburgh understands Morrow probably only has one or two good years left, but his team are all in their prime now so he's going for it. They have the best 2 forwards in the league, arguably the Norris winner in Letang and a clutch goalie, now they have a physical playoff presence in Morrow. The only way they don't win a Cup is if Philadelphia squeek into the playoffs, or their defence comes apart.
elvis15
I saw the other threads but none that said to Boston. It was a legitimate rumour with sources. My question to you is why did it bother you that I made this thread? Let the mods do their job (which they did in this case).
cmpunk
Penguins just need a goalie in the net, they score their way to victories
ButterBean
Their forward group is the by far the best in the league now I'd say. They did overpay but honestly they put Morrow in a great position to succeed. He doesn't need to put up great numbers or anything and he'll have linemates who will make his job easier. Even on the 3rd line he can make an impact with his grit and leadership.
Bruce Boudreau
Looks like Iginla will be going to Boston. Bruins badly need scoring help and Horton could go the other way for Iginla.

stawns
Higgins looks uninterested a lot of the times in my opinion. At least when Morrow is not producing, you can tell that he's still putting in 100% effort.
RyanKeslord17
I think this is PIT going all in for a cup here. Well, not all in, but giving up youth for a real chance at the cup.
ccc44
If this goes through and they get Iginla... Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla Neal - Malkin - Dupuis/Morrow Kennedy - Sutter - Morrow/Dupuis Cooke - Vitale - Glass Lets just do the easy thing and hand Pittsburgh the Cup
doobiedoodoo
Not sold on the Pens Def and Goaltending. Look at the Philly series last year. If Fleury starts leaking, look out.
marleau_12
They pretty much have the same chance at winning the Cup as they did before they made the trade.
Pears
Getting Morrow would almost guarantee they are out on Iggy

"Bull" Horvat
Tbh in order for Pitts to be a true favorite they need someone like Ballard on their team, no joke. Tampa could use one of those players too, not many of their dmen can carry puck around other than Bergeron but he hasn't been very effective this season. -Vintage Canuck-
Good trade for the Penguins. I still wonder if they'll go after Iginla. But I can't see them acquiring him unless they give up some young prospects/picks and roster player(s).
Understand
Seems like their defensive depth would be the bigger issue. After Letang, who is a star, you have Paul Martin -- who isn't too bad himself. Then Niskanen, Despres, Orpik, Engelland. I would be more worried about that back end right now than anything.
