The powerplay is doing what it should have been doing the last few years, which is shooting the puck!

I've liked our powerplay alot more so far this season than the last couple seasons. They're generating a ton of chances, they just need to start burying some.

Finally we're utilizing our big guns on the points, which is probably the simplest and most effective way to run a powerplay.

Newell Brown was just as incompetent as the other 2 idiots the Canucks fired this offseason. The powerplay was dreadful last year, mostly due to not shooting the puck combined with not putting Garrison on the 1st unit and the insistence on using the drop pass. A chimp would have been an improvement over Brown.

Brown was handed a powerplay unit that had the Sedins, Kesler, and Ehrhoff in their prime. The year they had the best powerplay unit in the league, Ehrhoff was arguably the best PP QB at the time.

He got alot of credit for things he didn't deserve. It was the same reason he was so highly touted before he came here. He had a powerplay unit with Niedermeyer, Selanne, and Pronger, along with Perry and Getzlaf.
