if it was an empty net and the player takes a penalty then it's an automatic goal unless your talking about a wide open net with the goalie out of postion

Let's say that Stamkos has an open net in the slot and is ready for a one timer. Luongo is swimming on the ice and has no chance to save it. Would you take the hold/hook or let him shoot?

That goal was the exact same scenario as the 2-2 goal in the gold medal game at the Olympics in 2010 scored by parise

lol no. This goal he got deked by the guy coming in and got beat, almost like a breakaway because it was an odd man rush. Parise was on the side of the net and got the rebound goal

What if there was an empty net and you could trip the guy to stop him from scoring a goal? Example: Opposition is skating toward our net with an empty net, would you trip him or let him put it in the empty net?

That's an automatic goal by NHL rules.
