This would have looked horrible on our part as well to ditch out on this guy in this situation. Well we were up against the cap as always. It was game 9 where decisions had to be made moving forward. He had zero points and was a minus 3. He looked like he had lost it at that point. We had to get him out the line-up. You guys got to understand Malhotra was untradeable at this point. Who would trade for a guy in that situation where he was at then? No one. He literally played 97 games for us before that last game. So either we played him for 90+ games and put him at danger or he wasn't in danger. Obviously it wasn't his health at issue here because he played 98 games. At the end of the day if Gillis defines it as concern for injury or for concern over play it's pretty gray but the facts speak pretty loudly here. If it were just cap reasons we would have found another way. My guess is Manny was on tryout till Kesler got back. You forget that Gillis was a good player till an injury took him out before he got a real chance. He knows what it's like to be cut down as well. I don't believe for a second that it was for malicious reasons. As for 90 games? They wanted him to work it out, obviously but he didn't. He wasn't even 20% Malhotra. But if you don't think the organization wouldn't have loved to have had a Schneider/Lack tantem + about $5.3 million in spending money this year, you're nuts. Booth with twins is a mitigated disaster. Twins have been outshot many 4 games this entire season. 2 of them were when Booth was on their line. GIVE KASS CHANCE TORTS YOU MEANIE I agree to some extent but you don't want reward him too early. What he's doing right now is good. Let it roll for a bit.
