Grapefruits
Well at least the Canucks and CDC have something in common. They both crash and burn under pressure.
coastal1
Maybe we miss Edler and Burrows more than we think. Oh for sure. How many goals does Burrows have this year? Plus his defence. And same with Edler. Big difference.
Quoted
Also is Henrik injured? he didn't take a single faceoff tonight, either Santorelli or Richardson was taking them for him Just a question of what. Wrist?
Lui's Knob
Notice a trend....it is the supporting cast that shows up more often than stars. Kesler looks useless...the Sedins more-so/ If they are injured, rest them, they're not helping the team win anyways. bloody ridiculous watching this team embarrass the organization with major choke jobs Why does Kesler always go into the attacking zone with a wrist shot only for it never to work, sometimes 1 on 3/4? dragon4401
Short term it hurts us, but longer term it shortens the retool. Doing nothing turns us into Edmonton within 3 years. No trading all our veterans and getting a bunch of overentitled kids making 6mil...Besides Hall who of those 3 has deserved their contract there? Gotta make the transition...Trading everybody would basically end us in the bottom
DIBdaQUIB
It shouldn't be a surprise as we've seen this type of thing regularly from this group for the last 3 years. Ever since the SCF, this team just seems to get overwhelmed for periods of time. And the only constant between then and now is the core of this team, so people can draw their own conclusions. Hint, it's not the coach! Precisely. A constant stream of support cast has been brought in to fill out the roster since 2011 and the team continues to spiral downwards. The apple is rotten in the core somewhere. It could be personalities, character, attitude, too comfortable who knows but this core is looking worse every game. Can't help but believe that if someone like Bowman was running this team, he would know what the issue is and move significant assets in their prime to change the dynamic of this team. newgm
lousy outcome and wasted point, but good effort and at least we get a point. These team is obviously good enough to hang with the best, Pittsburgh had to pull their goalie not us, so regardless of the flukie ending, we're going to be better when we get healthy. The coaching staff has to fix this last minute BS, it's on them.
Dragonfruits
if people think were fine without Edler then skake your heads all of you oh but wait Stanton fixes everything actually it doesn't because Hamhuis Garrison and Bieksa were still making massive mental mistakes even with Stanton in the lineup the team's defensive depth has been tested and it's garbage
Brad Marschnoz
That was a hell of a game and a gutsy performance coming back from 2-0 and taking that game over. A deflection off Kesler and over Lack, and a fluky seeing eye goal onto the giftstick of the prima donna is not going to sog my cereal. Shat happens, and sometimes it happens a few nights in a row. This isn't going to break this team. Great game. The team really stepped up tonight. Reading this actually just made me feel a lot better. These boards need more guys like you. Sypher009
Some positivity though - if Luongo was in net against Anaheim and Pittsburgh we probably win both those games. Lack has made some good saves, but not timely saves like a veteran goalie would. Sure Luongo has coughed up leads before, but he's made more big saves than Lack when the games on the line. The 4-3 goal is a must-save and one that Lu would have made. The Perry game winner through the 5-hole is a very easy save too. Nothing against Lack, but these late game losses are partly due to goaltending and us not having our #1 in net. Lack still played well tonight despite allowing 4 goals, he made some big saves Lack and Luongo have been 2 of the few positives this year, goaltending is not an issue

khay
First of all I just wanna say Tom Sestito > Aaron Volpatti.. I don't care how hot his sister was On to the post game rant.. This is so damn frustrating. So many things are going right this season. We got our tough guy playing way beyond expectations, 2 off season signings being huge contributors, Tanev emerging as a legit top 4, Kassian taking big steps in the right direction, Lu playing great again, Kesler back to classic Kesler. All these major bright spots and yet we seem to find a way to make a bonehead move late in so many games and lose. It's not even an isolated group doing it, it's being done by the entire team. This isn't a problem a trade is going to fix. It doesn't matter what kinda changes we make if these guys can't figure how to lock down a lead. Hard to believe that a team with such great defensive players is having that much trouble in this area. Top pk team can't even shutdown a game in the final minute, this is getting ridiculous. You are right, trade isn't going to fit it. We have played well until the injuries. We slowly started to suck. Schroeder, Burrows, Edler, Stanton, Alberts,... Our top 4 is Bieksa, Garrison, Hamhuis, and Tanev only 2 of the above are great defensively and limits the number of mistakes whereas the other two are known to make mistakes and have defensive breakdowns. Once the players start to come back, we will be better, I just hope the injured players can adapt back to the team as quickly as possible to help us make the playoffs. shiznak
How many more times does Kesler have to try that dangle move in the offensive zone, to realize it's not going to work?
Absent Canuck
Why are we still going on to buyout/trade like it is such a problem and needs to happen? I do hope though they buy Lu out just so he can go and win somewhere. We aren't winning here for a long time. I said it 1 year ago or so on here, we are going down the path of the Flames. Lui stated he no longer wanted to be way out here. He is not going to put up with it again this off season. He doesnt hate us as fans or the organization. He wants to be with his family and thinks our core has run its course. He may not get another chance with a contender but at least he will be nearer to his family. The same time zone at least. After everything he has done for the franchise, if we cant trade him this offseason, we should just let him go. Lets not get into legal battles where he refuses to report and blah blah blah........Buy the guy out.
oldnews
That's twice the Canucks outplayed Pittsburgh and got the short end of the puck luck. The payback will come in the SCF.

I don't know about the first two games but tonight I think Luongo would have had both of those last goals, especially the last one. Unfortunately Lack was relying on his teammates. But it's the Penguinos, Luongo would of known something was up and he would have got over to the post. Not taking anything away from Lack, he's lacking aweseome. He'll learn the more he plays.
