[Rumour] "Teams eyeing down Kesler & Edler" - Ownership prevented Kesler trade

Recommended Posts

Why?

It's not nearly enough.. and topping it could be as little as changing the 3rd to a 2nd. Still not a good deal.

I only say that because it's such a bad deal for Gillis and the org. Basically telling 28 other GMs this is the trash I am being offered, start bidding gentlemen.

Because really that is a terrible deal. Like us offering Gaunce Higgins and a couple of picks for say E.Kane

Keeler is worth more then staal and staal got a potential 2nd line center, 8th overall I believe and a good d prospect. Meaning we could get a top prospect, a 2nd line center and a d prospect

And Staal was a ticking time bomb. He didn't want to resign and everyone knew it.

Price to get Kesler is high. 1. Significant/established NHLer, preferably a C, 20 to 25; 2. Top prospect, preferably a F. 3. 1st rd pick.

Now, that isn't to say VAN couldn't take D instead of F prospect but more pressing need is up front. May just mean having to move a D later.

THANK YOU GILLIS. STICK TO THIS. DON'T TRADE HIM FOR LESS. Schenn, Laughton, 1st is seeming like a realistic deal.

And it should be no less than that.

Philly: Simmonds, Hagg/Laughton, 1st

Pittsburgh: Bennett, Maatta, 1st

Columbus: Jenner, Rychel, 1st

Detroit: Helm, Nyquist/Mantha, Sproul, 1st

IMHO Kesler doesn't go to Pittsburgh unless Maatta is coming back.

Sounds like sutter, depres and a 1st for me. Johansen, Murray and a 1st would be amazing but won't happen
