Heretic Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I could make a much more convincing argument that those who want the team to win, knowing that the playoffs are beyond a long shot are selfish, short sighted, band wagon fans who only want to win because they won't cheer for a team that loses more than it wins. The more losses this team accumulates in the next 12 games, the more wins it gets in the long term. I'll take short term pain for long term gain everytime because I've been through plenty of pain with this team and I know it's not the end of the world. Herberts Vasiljevs Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Hindsight is easy, but I'm glad they elected to pass on the (Howden) pick and retain the pick that turned out to be Jensen.I exploded off of my couch in jubilation when we drafted Jensen.I remember him being ranked way higher than 29th on Bob's list. I wanted him bad.Gillis' 1st round picks have not been bad like some people make them out to be:2008 - Hodgson is a 1st line centre so there's no argument there.2009 - Schroeder (a late 1st rounder) is still coming along, but he certainly hasn't busted.2011 - Jensen looks awesome (DID YOU SEE THAT DANGLE WOOOOOOW)2012 - Jury is still out on Gaunce2013 - Jury is still out on Horvat and ShinakrukNot too bad if you ask me.
