Jonathan Quick is being exposed - the keys to beating him (broken down)

Recommended Posts

Can we say this was maybe a bit premature? Quick looked like a superstar tonight!

He certainly played well but his team's D has played MILES better in front of him the last few games. He's a good goalie whose team makes him look better than he is. He sure as hell isn't a $7m goalie.

Props to Quick and the Kings for the crazy comeback. As for Quick, no surprise he started playing great when the defense tightened up making it easier for him to cheat. Sharks said it too the defense turned a switch after game 3 and it made life horrific for the Sharks.

No Quick is a very good goalie. His athleticism and anticipation is top notch

No defense last night, all on Quick. They got hammered from San Jose and Quick stood the test.

So did Ray Emery so by your tilted logic that makes him better too? Face it, your hero will not be remembered for his playoff performances other than his 2008 series vs St. Louis.

And by your logic, Lundqvist actually sucks since he's done nothing of any real importance in the playoffs. No one cares if he's won some game sevens in the first round. No one will remember that if that won't remember Luongo playing for the cup.

Oh, and our series versus St. Louis was in 2009.

Lundqvist hasn't gone far in the playoffs yet, correct. And you think Luongo is better or equal too because he's made it to the final? Yeah sounds right bud!

Yet with porous d in front of him he gets exposed for being way, WAY out of position...hmmm

haha yeha i guess hes the only goalie in the league whos numbers go down when his D lets mutiple cross crease passes got through... give your head a shake.... quick is top 3 easy.

Oh I beg to differ, I think Luongo will be most remembered for his playoff performances, just not in a good way.

it takes the entire team get to the finals so whether or not a goalie has or hasn't played in the finals is irrelevant because it isn't just the goalie that does or doesn't get you to the finals.

except when the canucks didn't make it, then it was Luongo's fault

  • 1 month later...

Someone needs to tell Quick he's been exposed. Maybe they can write it with his name on the Cup.

Jonathan "exposed" Quick

he did not play well in the playoffs, they won the cup in spite of him this year not because of him. in 2012 he pretty much carried them on his back

but that's what good teams do, even if their goalie is playing average they still find ways to win

The top 4 goalies in the NHL are Price, Quick, Rask and Lundqvist IMO. Those are the elite 4. It's not even close to whoever #5 is (Varlamov, Bishop, Rinne are all good, but not like the others)

I'd put Schneider in the top-5, he has the best SV%/GAA in the past 5 years with a minimum number of games played...just hasn't been given the opportunity to be the #1 because of shitty situations.

Pekka Rinne is among those 5 IMO.

you didn't watch the playoffs then because Quick made clutch saves throught the finals.
