Tough decision to let Mr Spaling go after a decent season in New Jersey, thanks to GM Canuck Surfer for the smooth negotiations.

SIGNING: The New Jersey Devils have re-signed Tom Kuhnhackl to a 3 year contract extension.

The Devils see a bright future in Tom and feel he is on the verge of pushing for a role in New Jersey as soon as this upcoming season.

Very pleased to have extended Grossmann and Zucker. Grossmann is a veteran presence on the back end who youngsters can look up to. As for Jason, here's a bridge deal we hope he can prove himself with and if so, we'll gladly give him the long term deal he's working towards.

First we would like to thank Mike & the Devils! And wish them luck with their pick!

This was our first transaction as a new administration. I suppose we were approached to make some big splashes?

Our response is this is sort of like using switchbacks, cutting partly sideways across the mountain you are climbing. Making sure you steadily get further up the hill.

On that side of the mountain was a young forward already established in the NHL. Sometimes 3rd line. Further up the line up at other times. And with some items the coach will ask for improvement on. Like all our players we are going to ask for a fast and more physical game. We still strongly believe Nick could earn more chances?

As to the big splashes question; there is no doubt we may be faced with steeper parts of the mountain very soon? And expect to bolt up that hill decisively!

SIGNING: The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed Patrick McNally to a 3 year contract extension.

small.png Patrick McNally - 3 year, $2.85 million dollar contract. ($950,000 per season)

Patrick is the last of our RFA's that needed to be resigned , we are very happy that he wants to stay and we hope he impresses our coaches at training camp later in the year.

A big thanks to agent Curt for his help in making this a painless process for both sides.
