alfstonker
Well nothing like him after the Chicago series I'm afraid. I was really disappointed in his performances.

iinatcc
WOW VRBATA? Oh ya he was super impressive in the playoffs. 30+ goals this season and probably helped the Canucks purge their offensive problems during the regular season. I'd say the signing was justified. BenSurgeon
No, as Neely was still in his twenties and he did not reach his potential. Kesler was in his thirties and has already reached his peak. The club knew what they were giving up and he is no hall of famer.

Raph
Neely was unproven when he was traded. Kesler was already a well-established player getting paid handsomely. This isn't even a comparison.
I-miss-Wis
The Kesler trade was embarrassing for this organization for sure. You'll find no team that wants to win out there will create a situation in which a player like that wants out. Detroit? No they'd never let him go. But we're following their model, right? Boston? No they'd never let him go either. Chicago? Nope. The list would continue. The Neely trade was less embarrassing and more stupid. We actually did lose a guy in Chicago that left a bad taste in our mouths. It's Kevin Hayes. We took him in the first round back in 2010 and the jerk spent 4 years in our organization and refused to sign with us - preferring instead to let the 4 year period expire in August 2014 and become a free agent elsewhere. The NY Rangers then grabbed him - hence I really wanted the NY Rangers to lose and glad they didn't get out of the 3rd round. So it doesn't just happen to Vancouver.
