desiboynux4lifee*******
This guys a winner, he took a average Tampa defence to the finals. Also, he took a average defence on the Canucks' who were without Hamuis to game 7. He is a under-rated defensive coach, just look at the numbers of the defence when he was here. Furthermore, he knew how to put on the right guys in the right situations. - Bieksa was actaully decent when he was here - Tanev came to the scene during the Finals and played great - Corrado was showing potential against the sharks In short, he knew how and when to put the right pairings on, something we saw this year was lacking. After this organization fired him, it's never been the same on defence. Go win that cup Rick you deserve it.

LaBamba
He knows how to bake a great apple pie no doubt. But you can't bake a great apple pie with shat apples. Gotta have good, fresh, crisp apples that mesh together. No old, bruised, sour ass crab apples.

Jiggs50
Dude how many of those guys are top 2 guys, rangers had a stacked line up on defence. Hedman is an undisputed number 1. The rest are 2-4 type of guys. You have no clue about hockey. It was a team effort to beat the Rags

Dragonfruits
Dude how many of those guys are top 2 guys, rangers had a stacked line up on defence. Hedman is a franchise d-man right now he is the engine that drives that defense so you have no clue about tampa's defense not even going to bother going through the rest of them
canucktican
also we are forgetting a guy named Jon Cooper. Let's give him some credit too.

The rest are 3-6s, they don't have a solid 2nd guy. Compare their defence to the Ducks or Chicago's. Tampa Bay has a average defence compared to real elite teams. SergioMomesso
Average D? I'd take that D core over most teams in the league. Hedman is a stud. Strahlman is grossly underrated. Sustr can move quite well for a big man. Carle is a dependable quality 2-3 guy. Coburn is great in his own end. Garrison didn't hurt them at any time. After this organization fired him, it's never been the same on defence. Go win that cup Rick you deserve it. Hmm. The biggest mistake the organization has EVER made? Obviously you don't mean that, as nobody could compare firing Bowness, an assistant coach, with hiring Bill Laforge or trading Neely and an early 1st (ultimately Glen Wesley) for Barry Pederson, or many of the other really horrible decisions. The biggest mistake the organization made on May 22, 2013? One could easily dispute that, too. Let's edit your post a bit: This guys a winner, he took a average Ranger team to the Stanley Cup finals one season and to the Conference finals the next! Also, he took a average defence on the Canucks' who were without Hamuis to game 7. He is a under-rated coach, just look at the numbers when he was here compared with the year after he was fired, and the numbers for the Rangers the year before they hired him compared with the last two seasons. Furthermore, he knew how to put on the right guys in the right situations, getting the Sedins the offensive zone starts that made them so dominant and putting them in a position to win individual trophies. - Bieksa was actaully decent when he was here - Tanev came to the scene during the Finals and played great - Corrado was showing potential against the sharks In short, he knew how and when to put the right pairings on, something we saw this year was lacking. After this organization fired him, it's never been the same. Go win that cup next year, Alain you deserve it! __________ It's fine to sing the praises of Bowness, but saying firing him (as opposed to other moves the Canucks have made or firing the head coach of the time) is more than a little over the top.
