Is it just me or is being the President of an NHL hockey team the easiest job in the world?

So the players play,

The coaches coach the players,

The GM trys to build the team and work on trades to make them better.

What does the President do?

Outside of having to look good and do a few press conferences a year, I honestly don't know what they have to do.

What would Linden's Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm look like?

All I know is I see a bunch of "presidents" who don't have any experience getting appointed to a role that I think I could do better at.

Thanks for posting these links. I just watched them and they confirmed my thoughts. The hardest thing he did was talk to the camera and pretend to talk on his cell phone a few times. I at least hope his morning workout was at a Club 16.

Man, I wish I could get a job like this.

Yep, nothing like poopin' on Trevor Linden to really make you popular with Canuck fans.

I'm not trying to poop on Linden. I think he's a great guy. But I just assumed that the hirings of him, Kevin Lowe, Shanahan, etc. are all for PR and they don't actually do much.

So if he's just a PR guy, he seems to be doing a really good job at it so far. What's your complaint? You don't want a guy like Trevor Linden representing the franchise?

all you have to do is excel in the nhl for 20 years or more, learn the business from guys like pat quinn ...then sell the owners on your knowledge and abilities and the surround yourself with great people and be able to execute your plans...we'll keep watching for your debut....good luck.

Did you miss the whole part about flying all over the place to scout? Or the 3 hour conference call?

Wow, calm down everyone. I'm not hating on TL, I'm just guessing all the NHL Presidents have a cushy job.

And there is little doubt in my mind I could do the job. I would want to be President and GM though as its our trading that has been questionable lately.

I have little doubt I could've gotten more for Luongo, Kassian and Kesler.
