He was no more injured than Henrik.

It's hardly ancient history...And it is important because it shows a lack of consistency with the rules, implying there's different rules for different teams.

OK well then get one of our guys to pull a "Bertuzzi" then. That'll fix things won't it.

The league is a joke. There are clear favorites in large American cities that the brass protects at any cost.

That statement is ridiculous. McNabb was flagrant with his elbow and has the history to back up his shady play.

Your statement doesn't answer that issue at all.

Actually in all likelihood very little would change except that all the good players on the Canadian teams would leave Canada and it's 65 cent dollar like rats from a sinking ship and the "Canadian NHL" would compare to the American NHL the same way that the CFL compares to the NFL. Canadian hockey would be inferior to even the KHL IMHO.

Canadian hockey isn't good at generating revenue, that's for sure.

If any group of people object to paying big bucks for hockey,  it's Canadians.

Might as well stop those World Junior tournaments,  considering how unprofitable they are.

Hey, wait a minute...

Hey, wait a minute...

Take all the stars off of Canadian teams and see what happens....

Not sure what the WJC tourney has to do with NHL revenues either.

Don't use common sense and reason. That's forbidden here.

Wow, talk about clueless.

If they took out the top 3 Canadian teams alone from the league, they would lose over half a billion dollars in revenue. A large part of which goes to propping up weak American markets that have no business having NHL teams.

The league would collapse, or at the very least have to go through a rapid contraction.

I bet more people in Canada would show up to watch a team with no stars than in the USA. I can prove it.

Ask any Jets fan. They didnt care who was on the team, or if they missed the playoffs. They were just happy to get their team back.

If all seven Canadian teams left the NHL tomorrow, the league would be crippled and collapse within a year.

C'mon use your heads; it would take about 35 phone calls to strip every Canadian team of all their decent players leaving the Canadian teams performing at a roughly AHL level. The US teams would be that much better which would stimulate interest in the US markets that are strong. Yes the league would contract in the US but it would be even better in quality than it is now. Do any of you really think hockey fans in Vancouver would pay $100 for a ticket to see an AHL quality team? Especially when that much $ would fly you to wherever in the USA to watch hockey that would be about 5 times better where the tickets would be about half the price.

Yep. Anyone who doesn't understand that, doesn't understand the dynamics of the NHL and revenue sharing.

Why would players leave the Canadian teams? Nothing would be stopping them from paying the players the same amount they do now. They could even make money off new franchises in Quebec City and Hamilton.

Yet Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver have continually appeared in the top ten most financially successful teams in the league for over a decade now.

You realize most of the players in the league are Canadian right? What phone call are you talking about...

And why would they leave Canada to play in the States? These teams don't have any more money to pay their players than the Canadian teams would.

Also if that happened, I would imagine any deal with the CHL would no longer exist. So good luck getting any new young Canadian talent. They'd have to rely on their college programs alone.

...and Winnepeg and Quebec City lost their teams to non hockey markets while Edmonton and, yes, even the Canucks were rumoured to be on the move not so long ago. An all Canadian pro league would be a financial disaster; it would be like Eric Lindros all over again times 1000. All the young star players would go where the money is and Canada isn't that place.
