I went back and looked at the standings to see what our records have been as of March 1 each year (post deadline). We are now guaranteed to have the worst record at the trade deadline since the 99/00 season (when Mark Messier was still Captain). Here's our records of all previous years back to 99/00 and our Conference standing at the time.

Canucks Standings on March 1st

CURRENT = 22-24-12 (11th)
14/15 = 36-23-3 = (6th)
13/14 = 28-24-10 = (9th)
12/13 = 10-5-4 = (4th)
11/12 = 41-16-8 = (1st)
10/11 = 40-15-9 = (1st)
09/10 = 37-22-2 = (5th)
08/09 = 32-22-8 = (5th)
07/08 = 32-22-10 = (9th)
06/07 = 37-22-5 = (5th)
05/06 = 34-21-5 = (4th)
04/05 = LOCKOUT
03/04 = 35-19-11 = (3rd)
02/03 = 38-17-10 = (2nd)
01/02 = 28-25-9 = (7th)
00/01 = 33-21-10 = (6th)
99/00 = 22-30-11 = (11th)

I think that's what hurts most of all....being compared and found to be actually worse than when Messier captained this team. At least we had someone to truly hate for it back then.  :(

If the owners and management still try and go for the playoffs and actually trade for help then I'm done watching the nucks for a while.

Only watch the games right now to see Horvat, Baer, Virtanen and Hutton, but usually end up turning it off after the 1st period cause it's so boring.

Uh. I'm pretty darn sure that our management know what's going on..

I'm not overly confident that jim bennings strength is trading.  But i do feel he knows darn well he has to do his best to get assets for vrbata and company.

At least if he doesn't get as high picks as he should he can make up for it with being good at drafting.

Doesn't really matter if he knows what's going on or not when the owners have the final say in what happens.

Meh, I'll still watch.  It's like another poster put it yesterday, "It's like driving by the scene of a car accident, gotta take a look..."

Moi aussi.

I've been here since 1970. This isn't the first period of suckage that I've lived through with the Canucks...

To the best of my knowledge Erik ownership meddling to the degree many insinuate around here is speculation.

Besides even if he has squashed jb wish to trade old vets in favor of a playoff push then certainly he is smart enough to have abandoned that philosophy by now
