86Viking
He will waive, he is not coming across like Sundin did at all. bringing up Vermette was cool so he would come back in a heartbeat its just a matter of if the canucks want him

I'm thinking the same also, but I don't think he's much of a risk taker in his life....not that I think it would be a risk to go to CHI, he'd be nuts not to go

86Viking
I hope this doesnt drag on and a deal gets done sooner than later, cant rush a trade but for his sake Im sure if he is willing to go and likely knows he is going to go then the sooner the better

He said we wants to win a cup in Vancouver and he was close in 2011, he would come back in a second for chance here in his twilight years
theminister
By agreeing to take back both of Scuderi and Bickell it could really change the dynamics of it from the Hawks point of view, I think. Clearly there would need need to be some salary fixing in there for next year IMHO but we might be in as good a spot to do that as any team with good assets to sell. Other teams don't necessarily have the financial wherewithal to make the same deal. Arizona, for example, doesn't have our deep pockets. It really just depends how 'all in' Chicago wants to go this year to shed cap space for next year. Could be a perfect storm, really. We could afford to have one year cap eaters on our team and a guy like Scuderi could play out the last 20 games with us in Hammer's spot, no problem. TOMapleLaughs
Sounds like Hammer's open to coming back, if he is traded. I hope so. Both for him and his family if he likes it here, and as far as the team goes, it's not like the team is currently bursting with NHL-caliber defensemen. Well obviously this year he has no chance to win in Vancouver this year. But what he meant was if he is traded, he wants to go to a Stanley Cup contender. He's actually been ready to play for a while now, not quite 100% but flames are just keeping him out to prevent any further injury. He is getting moved, and I'm saying it's to LA.
