TheRussianRocket.
Don't blame him. Oilers never did do a whole lot to help out his cause in Edmonton. He has a ton of skill but was never really put in a position to succeed.

Ossi Vaananen
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC 2m2 minutes ago Interviewed while EDM in SJ last week. I'd reported rumours Yakupov was willing to go if not on top lines, but it was obviously much deeper.
Ossi Vaananen
I'm sure Edmonton wants a ridiculous overpayment. He's worth the risk, but needs a lot of his tendencies coached out. He hangs on to the puck too long, and his defense is questionable.

stonecoldstevebernier
Definitely a player that needs a change of scenery. Tricky part is going to be making a trade for fair value... Oilers don't want to give up a former #1 overall for scraps and no team is going to pay a #1 overall price for a player like Yakupov. Which side do you think says no in a Yakupov-Drouin trade? I feel like EDM would rather trade for a d-man than add another young forward.

DeNiro
I doubt Edmonton wants another player like Drouin. They have enough of those. Edmonton needs more size and grit up front and on D. Deal doesn't make sense to me. There's young D-men out there (Hamonic) that make much more sense for Edmonton than Drouin.

Yet another reason Hamonic won't come here.

And Isles would want a similar dman in return for Hamonic. ...I'd assume Oilers would have to do Yakupov+ if they wanted some sort of impact dman in return, otherwise they'll be looking at a forward or picks/prospects. It'd be the perfect way for yzerman to punish Drouin as well. He'd go from sunny Florida to the 10 month winter that is Edmonton.

I don't see them wanting or needing more picks, or even forwards. If they trade one of their top young players, it will likely be for a D-man. Whether it be part of a package for Hamonic or another D-man I'm not sure. But D will be the main focus this offseason for the Oilers.
