News sites that aren't social engineering outlets?

189lb enforcers?

Recommended Posts

I stopped reading the newspapers, except for sports, and watching TV, except for sports, about 10 years ago. I just couldn't stand the messages anymore.

These sites like Yahoo or MSN are the absolute worst. CNN and the rest of the crap is equally as bad.

Where do you folks go to find honest news that's not propaganda or some awful agenda-laiden social engineering project? If we can here, please post your fav sites for news that's not pushing anything except honest discussion.

I hate religion and race-baiting crap. I also hate feminism and left wing diversity crap, but that's just me, so it's hard to pick sides out there. It's either God or white males suck to choose from, essentially, so I fall out of both categories. Of course, I'm being a bit facetious here and having some fun at it, but you get my drift. I'd rather ask for help than not.

As an aside, the mellenials appear to have fed from that trough and have no clue what I will be referring to. Are they really that gullible? It looks that way. Ha

cool.

well i usually read npr, bbc, cbc, and some forums for my news. Id agree on most of the stuff ur saying but dumping millenials all under one blanket really angers me. I also usually switch between CTV, GLOBAL and CBC during the news hour just to get around the annoying fluff garbage stories.

If your still going to Yahoo or MSN your old. im pretty sure the average age of their users is 195 years old.

CNN is a ratings based "news" organization.

Good for you!  Mainstream Media is nothing but propaganda I have seen this clearly for a long time now, anyone who doesn't is just not seeing properly. Sell the wars, steer the politics, distract us from unsavory issues, ridicule or blacklist those who get too close to the truth, protect the crimes and actions of the elites. - Wash, rinse, repeat.

yoshiyoshi has a good answer, there are no sources worth 'trusting', we have to listen to different perspectives and judge for ourselves. This is a great thing imo, we're just new at it. There should be no more 'authority' on truth or reality, the only authority is ourselves, what can prove for ourselves or what we feel to make the most sense

&^@# the BBC all up and down the town. Lying &^@#s. They are also complicit in 9/11 and the whole War on Terror.

IMHO if you are not following a conspiratorial perspective on geo-politics right now you are likely pretty lost.

Usually I look for the more rational/better-researched conspiracy people, then cut the fat and tone it back a bit. Corbett Report is usually pretty good.

I like getting my news from BBC's online service.  In addition to having good international coverage, they have pretty good coverage of North American events.  It is interesting and perhaps less biased to see local events reported from an international perspective.  It's never a good idea to get news from only one source though (so I look elsewhere too) but BBC is at least still mostly professional journalism without any obvious bias or crass commercialism.  It's not perfect, no news source is, but it is more professional than most.

Even if you think journalistic standards have fallen across the board, it doesn't mean you should turn your back to every source. If you are a reasonably intelligent individual you can tell the difference between facts and rhetoric. Also to give you an example, just because Tucker Carlson/Sean Hannity are shills doesn't mean that everything on Fox is complete garbage. Someone like Chris Wallace is capable of delivering facts and cutting through the rhetoric. So there are some good to great journalists out there, if you are willing to look.

Read everything and just balance things out.  See what MSNBC and Fox are spewing out... then just find what's common between both of them.

Also... "independent" media is always good.  They can still be very biased as well.... like YTY or stuff from Milo, etc.  Some Youtubers are pretty good.... I tend to follow Philip DeFranco, Stefan Moyneux, etc.

I also do watch opinion pieces from Black Pigeon Speak, Sargon, and China Uncensored....

I am willing, just not much for the doing. Hoping for some shortcuts to keep me away from the BS that tries to divide us at all costs.

Great, thanks. That's what I am looking to discuss and see if we have consensus on what is total crap like CNN.

Any 'news' outlet who failed to investigate 9/11 but instead continues to hold fast to a story that was concocted on Day 1 has lost all credibility imho Funny how they ALL did, all the outlets. THEY ALL POST THE SAME STORIES. Sometimes right down to the exact words. It is collusion, weaponized mass-thought control straight up. They all agree where the lines are drawn, and none dare break orders.

BBC covered for Jimmy Savile too, they follow a predictable but narrow field of discussion, look good within that narrow realm, but ultimately I really think its main function is against our best interests, not for.  MSM obstructs truth, and spreads lies, has trumpeted every &^@#ing war the Neo-Cons cooked up.. MSM is the great barrier that has controlled our perceptions for too long. I've said for a long time any progress made for humanity will be to break the spell of the western Anglo-American-Zionist media conglomerates.

RT.com(to get their perspective).

I'm no financial-type, but Zerohedge has interesting articles. Investors want to know what's happening, basically 24/7. Pretty harshly humorous, and/or offensive commenters.

Also X22 report. Daily youtube update(about 20 mins, each report), on financial & geopolitical events. Very critical of most western policy, which lends credence.

^For these financial/economic sites, seems to still be accepted that one should ignore what we're doing to the environment. Appreciate their info, but lots to disagree with.

Daily MSM print is such garbage, it's hard to tolerate.

The great Sy Hersh has been doing great work on the Syria file but somebody leaked an audio conversation he had re Seth Rich and now I suppose he's on the clock.

It would be a tragedy if anything were to happen to him.

Stephen Cohen of Princeton is very good on Russia.

news has always been biased, theres just more outlets and easier access to different sources now. Best bet is to find a couple with differing agendas and see how they present the same issue

This is really the only way to get news.  Specific journalists may not be biased, but the outlets are.  Advertising and lobbying in media is a real problem.  Editorializing made up "facts" is also a real problem.

I keep a bunch in a favourites folder, depending on the story, I rotate through these...

So what NEWS are you actually looking for? Are you looking to read minutes from White House meetings? Are you looking for transcripts from legislative assembly and so on? If so, you need to go to gov websites and just look at that

But if you're equating "being less dumb" with learning about the latest tragedy in, like the london fire recently, then I suggest instead of finding objective reports about that, you start re-adjusting what it means to be "intelligent" -- these are trivial issues unless you're directly involved.

so if you're talking about understanding bigger things like war, politics, etc. then you need to stop running from subjectivity, because ideology is inescapable. you cannot make a distinction between war/society and so on.

so, my challenge to the OP is to actually face the things you dislike, because that's just the way things are these days. racism, sexism, etc. are real issues. try to understand the different perspectives, even if it's difficult, and recognize that most of it is not meant to be a personal attack against you. but instead, i think you'll realize that often times those complaints or issues are rooted in ACTUAL real life systems that idiotic, greedy Boomers have set in place for future generations to clean up.

it just so happens that the Boomer-created godawful ideology-infused 24/7 new cycle is one thing the "mellenials" haven't managed to dismantle yet, so reap what you sow and try to understand the causes, don't run away because of your emotional gut reactions
