(proposal) VAN-TOR/BOS/NYI

Recommended Posts

to nyi: granlund, gudbranson

to van: pulock, 2nd pick 2018

nyi is gonna be looking to make a push for the playoffs so they're gonna need some bottom 6 scoring and someone to play behind boychuk. van gets a 23 year old offensive dman who posses a big shot from the point. has trouble in his own zone but we need pp quarterback and maybe hes the guy

to bos: vanek, del zotto

to van: miller, 3rd pick 2018, 4th pick 2018

bos gets a veteran scorer which the dont have much of this season and left handed dman to even up their d pairs. del zotto has 1 more year at 3m and miller has 2.5m for 2 more years and del zotto is 3 years younger so thats Boston incentive to make the deal. miller replaces the physical presence left my gudbranson and we acquire 2 draft picks

to tor: tanev

to van: 2nd pick 2018 (TOR), 2nd pick 2018 (SJ)

no kapanen, liljegren or dermott. tanevs injury riddled career has caught the eye of the league so those kinda wishful trades are never going to happen. we dump tanevs full contract for a pair 2nd round picks

these deals leave the canucks with FOUR 2nd round picks :frantic:, and extra 3rd rounder and replace a 4th rounder we lost in pouliot deal. makes room on the left side for juolevi for next year...........or dahlin:bigblush:

Do you think this is a better D cors than

Edler Tanev

Hutton Gud

Pouliot Stetcher

MDZ Biega

I don't!

Ask yourself would you put Demko behind that group and expect him to have success?

wow you really had me there

i thought i was in bizzarro world

please review your post

you have incorrectly attributed to me a post i did not make

i'd appreciate it if you could remedy that

thanks in advance

there is a beer in it for you if you do

albeit just an icon of appreciation allowed on this site

Islanders trade is fair, too little for Vanek and far too little for Tanev.

Vanek went for a minor leaguer and conditional 3rd last year which Detroit never received doubt vaneks value is much higher this year

Tanev's price should be a 1st + 2nd + good prospect. If there's a team willing to pay that then we have to consider it, but probably not for anything less than that.

Hey I hope a deal like that would come but doubt a team will pay that price for dman who plays 60 games a year.

How could it get any worse? We’re 3rd last in the league that’s a roster for trade deadline on wards improvements can be made in the off season. I’m trying to hit the reset button on a top 6 which has 4 glorified 3rd pairing dman

My point was we should be improving our D.

That’s what I’m trying to do. Tear it down and build it back up. Short term it’s worse no doubt, but I’m looking at 2 years from now which is the current plan to be better around that time

Its worse short term. But you also put Miller back in.  At the end of the day, its mostly a gaggle of mid draft picks. Realistic & consider JB, a good use of assets.

Its actually a fair bit worse short term. A gamble that pays off if Pullock rehabilitates the D side of his game.

And we make use of both the draft picks & cap space > Sign a D like John Carlson in the summer?

I'm on the other side of the coin here. It's time to start trending up. I think we need to thin the heard of  tweeners 2 if not 3 of of Goldy, Granlund, Vanek, and 2 if not 3 of Tanev, Hutton, MDZ should be moved. the Target should be a 1st pairing PPQB and picks to cook in the minors for a couple years for cheep playoff depth during our window.   Re up Gud 4.5 x 5 and go hard after E Kane in the off season 5.5 x 4 also dangle 5m for Tryamkin.

Go into next season W something like....

Elias Bo Boeser

Kane Sutter Virtanen (crash bang line! Kane takes some of Elias's hard mins on the top line.)

Bae Gagner Gaudette (secondary scoring)

Gaunce Dowd Loui (shut down pk specialists)

Dahlen Gadjo

Edler PPQB (Tyson barrie/ John Carlson per se)

Tryamkin Biega (Bodied by Biega is the guy Tryamkin needs to watch tape of. Not Pronger)

Pouliot Gud (bring back the snarl to Pouliots game)

Juolevi Stetcher

I think this lineup could win a  7 game series. And only get better for the next several years as the youth grows.

I also wonder when Chicago realizes its time to tear it down if Crawford becomes available??? He would be my pick to bring Demko in under the wing of.

I'd rather keep Tanev than deal him for two mid to late 2nds. I don't think his value is as high as some posters think it is due to his injury history but he's worth more to us than that.

I'd accept any of these.

1st, 4th, Dermott

Kapanen and the better 2nd

Liljegren

While I agree Tanev shouldn't be offloaded for 2 seconds I also think he needs to go. He is so often injured you can almost expect to be without half of your top pairing for half the season. I think Kapanen and a 2nd is the most realistic of your proposals good for both teams. I'd do it I think TO would too.

Often injured, yup Tanev has seen a bit of down time, but not all because of a pulled groin or over worked muscles. Let see some of you take pucks to the face or high sticks to the face, or broken bones from shot blocking. Lord knows how many bruises some of you would have. Simply put Tanev's worth is through his corsi and metrics, this man is top 5 in the league as a defensive specialist. So please stop giving him away for butter fingers. If and when he is dealt, JB will decide his worth. I believe it's in the 1st, 2nd and a prospect area, or god forbid an old fashioned hockey deal, 1 for 1. (M M). remeber the saying you want something, then pay the price, and right now T.O. wants that defensive gem with Rielly.

Tanev's injury history does affect his value but not to the point where he is only worth two 2nd round picks. Benning also said that a defenseman has to come back. Either it would have to be Liljegren and the two 2nds or Liljegren and the 1st.
