1'000 points for Eric Staal.

He's the 89th player to reach that mark.

From Russo after point 999:  Since 2003-04, Staal has played the second-most games in the NHL at 1,207, scored the fourth-most goals at 428, has the fifth-most points at 999, taken the second-most shots at 3,789, has scored the eighth-most power-play goals at 130, has the ninth-most game-winning goals at 69 and logged the most minutes among all NHL forwards at 23,701 minutes, 27 seconds.

In the same game, Patrick Kane notched his sixth career hat trick. The three goals gives him 978.  Pretty good chance he becomes the 90th player to reach 1000 points.

Ho-Sang has returned to the Islanders and will report to Bridgeport.  He had been away from the team since October when he cleared waivers and asked for a trade - they told him not to report.  He asked to return and they are giving him a clean slate.

From their website:

"He just has to go there and do what he has to do as a player and conform to the environment and they'll be no issues," Islanders general manager Lamoriello said Tuesday.

"He was the last cut going down to the American league, so he did have a good training camp. Where he's at right now physically and mentally, we'll just have to wait and see. But from our end of it, he'll have a clean slate. It's in his hands."

Darcy Kuemper is hurt.  He's played 24 games for the Coyotes although they have a capable backup in Anttii Ranttaa (damn you Finish double letters).

I feel like a mini Arizona slide is not out of the question.
