canuck2xtreme Posted October 2, 2021 Author Share Posted October 2, 2021 A few quick hits for everyone: re: IR Placements I've had a few people ask me about IR placements already, and some teams have players listed there already as well. Please note that in order to put a player on IR early, you still need an official source confirming the players status as on Injured Reserve, and that Front Office budgets still come into play during the off-season. re: Salary Cap A few teams are still over the cap, or have more minors salary than their budget allows for. Teams are expected to have this straightened out before the first day of the season. If a team matches an offer sheet, they CANNOT trade the player for at least one season. In order to match an offer sheet, the team must have room under the salary cap to accommodate the player and their new salary. The 10% rule does not apply in this situation.
