D-Money Posted October 30, 2021 Share Posted October 30, 2021 Super happy with the team so far. Currently sitting 2nd overall, and getting close to getting Kevin Hayes back from injury. Also, for a team with very limited draft choices in the past few years, there have been some nice surprises in the system so far: - Daniil Miromanov has been a force so far in North America, with 2G 2A in 3 games in the AHL, and an assist in his 3 NHL games. Not bad for a young defenseman coming from overseas. - Lukas Svejkovsky is currently leading the WHL in scoring, with 19 points in 9 games. - Elliot Desnoyers is tied for 6th in scoring in the QMJHL, and leads the league in PPG, with 7G 9A in only 8 games. - Eetu Makiniemi has had a great start to NA pro hockey, going 2-0 in his first 2 starts, with a 1.00 GAA and .971 save%. - Ryan Shea had an uneventful rookie pro season last year, but has started this AHL season with 3 assists in his first 3 games. We will have 9 current roster players on either the active roster or IR. This will provide us maximum flexibility but may also create a bit of a chaotic summer lol. 2 of those 9 signed players may also be trade considerations for us closer to the trade deadline. We will likely look to re-sign several players for next season but next season will be the year of youth for NJ. Any young player who earns a roster spot will be given one.
