Lots of people rent. If he does buy a house then most likely he knows something that the rest of us don't, but he can't even sign a new contract until after the season is over...that said he did have four years ... and knows how much other teams would love his services .. think him not buying a place has a lot more to do with the nature of the business then his desire to stay here. Bernie Nichols scored what was it - 150 points playing with Gretzky? Then went to the owners and asked them if he should be buying a house - as in would he get traded - they said "heck no - yes go buy a house and settle in for the long haul!" paraphrasing intent .... he bought a house that summer and was traded the next season.
