Regulation loss vs the Knights. 1-0-1 vs the Kings We have 4 wins vs Seattle and SJS. Both behind us. Besides Anaheim and Seattle, everyone else in the division have games in hand. No passion, no hustle, Boeser looked like he'd never played the game before and Miller looked disinterested. The die was cast in the very first minute of play when Burroughs was stapled to the boards on a questionable hit, was obviously hurt and there wasn't even the hint of a pushback. Ditto in the 3rd. when Hoglander got stapled. It's fine to say that Schenn is tough enough to go after the perpetrator but......the tough guys on the team need to be forwards, not defensemen. You have a D take a 5 minute penalty and it totally disrupts the defensive structure. But a forward taking a 5 minute penalty is OK because it's much easier to juggle those lines. Hope that management all watched this game and will meet tomorrow to discuss who is salvageable and who needs to go. I think it will be a real defining moment for this team and that BIG changes will happen between now and the opening game of next season. As insurance for these 8-10 games every season. As a softer type team I feel we need to. Pools, Burr, Rathbone even Schenn. There are moves which can be made... if management want to make them. For example, signing Tryamkin... that provides the the #5 D position... in fact, maybe it even provides the #2 D. They could sign him if they want to... they could make room in the CAP for him. There are other decent defensemen which are coming available in the summer... get rid of Poolman and you have room. Trade Halak and you have more room. Trade Dickenson and you have even more room. Look at the free agents available... there are options there for the 3rd line.
