Man when Podkolzin and Arshdeep Bains come up and become 30G scorers for the club it will be an incredibly exciting time. Just need some conditioning and Peteys wrist to continue working for them to thrive under Bruce’s system.

Hate to break it to you but Bains has about as much chance at becoming an NHLer as Dane Fox did.

You never know with journeyman NHLers. Bains way more grit than a guy like Dane Fox. Could very well be a Burrows like story with how hard he’s worked to get to where he is!

Love ?Bain’s, but he’s got less than zero chance at an N

HL career.  His skill is at best fourth line.  But he’s a softeroo.  So no chance.  Signing hm was all about the publicity.  Very sad move really.

What about Karel Plasek? Canucks signed some solid hardworking guys with hands in tight this past year.

So as I predicted, Podz is struggling in the AHL and had 3 shifts in the 1st period in Abby. I didn't so much predict this as say , id rather have him struggle through this in the NHL than struggle through it in the AHL. But ppl thought he would just dominate the A and get all this ice time. As if it's that simple

4 games, 2-1-3, +3, 2 PIM's, 9 shots

It's ok.  The AHL is less structured so there will some adjusting for him to do but what he really needs is reps and to get his confidence back.

Those are some very, very strong feelings on a low risk high reward prospect signing lol why so sour? This kid tore up the WHL his last year, worth a hail mary flyer as a free agent signing....we didn't even waste a pick on him....there's literally no downside. If he doesn't develop in the AHL we move on, simple.

FYI he was a standout at the young starts tournament all reports are he has a high hockey IQ. Wouldn't count him out so early, especially with players who have a chip on their shoulder.

The AHL is also a highly skilled, competitive league. It's pretty high level hockey down there too, people seem to think it's not.

Bains was a free prospect with good hockey IQ. You may call him softeroo and while he may not be a fighter look at his fight card.

He sticks up for his team mates! This is his first year in the A. There is certainly going to be a learning curve pivoting from leading the WHL to learning a pro bottom 6 role. Give him some time.

Bains might have to become a thirty goal man in the AHL first - just twenty-nine more to go…
