Flipping over organized cards is not a very transparent draft procedure.

It’s theatre.

The worst team in the standings should draft 1st. Draft in reverse order of the league standings, afterwards. What’s wrong with that? Transparent & un-riggable.

Tanking, if it happens, has its’ own price & consequences in marketplaces. If it happens - their are losses off ice as well - even if they should select a top/ generational player high & early.

I think the lottery should be bottom three teams

I haven't read through the thread but the only comment I have is,,,,  if the lottery isnt rigged, then why don't they do the ping pong balls live on tv??  The league is about money and having big markets pay for advertising..   Hopefully he will want to play for the Canucks at some point in his career and perhaps like Petey,, sign a short contract so he controls where he plays

Not even bothered or surprised. We’ll make playoffs next year, and we have a good team moving forward. As the Panthers are demonstrating, if you have great goaltending and buy-in from a club, and toughness, you can rock it in the post season. We just need to get tougher.

Don't worry, we will be having this conversation again next year after losing the  lottery to the Blackhawks where they will draft a local huge Canuck fan talent again next year.

Then we get to hope one of the later 1sts turn into a player as good as Hronek…….

and he is actually pretty awesome, so I kinda doubt it

We have him for 2 years then he's a Ufa. That 1st rounder would be property of he Canucks for a minimum of 9 years

Hronek will sign to be here for years, or he'll be turned back into a 1st rounder etc.
