According to Google, "Thanksgiving Day is on Thursday, November 24, 2011" if you type in "American Thanksgiving".

Today's Wednesday.

We celebrated a much-needed win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Burrows scored the GWG.

So, once again, all Canucks fans thanked Alex Burrows. Where would we be without him!

Then perhaps you could change your title to reflect your best wishes to fellow American posters by titling the thread " Happy American Thanksgiving"?

Or in the sub-title "To all our American friends"....or something as such.

Just a suggestion......because my desire to facepalm and   you, is rather strong right now. ;)

A very Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbours South of the border and to all of our American board members! May the turkey be juicy, the pumpkin pies all covered with whip cream and the football games all resolved in your favour! Happy Turkey Day!

Edit: Wow, absolutely cannot believe (though it should come as no surprise I suppose, this is CDC after all) the mean-spiritedness, smugness and just downright ignorant and snarky attitude of some people in here. You can't tell me those responding negatively are so ignorant that they didn't know it's American Thanksgiving coming up. Which only leads anyone reading this thread to believe that those negative comments are being made only to be snotty. If you don't want to extend a greeting, just read and leave or just bypass the thread altogether.......the thread title makes it clear what the thread content is going to be.

Since our family has American and Canadian blood, we celebrate two Thanksgivings a year. Kinda hard to avoid/ignore when NFL football is traditionally on and Black Friday follows.

Happy Thanksgiving to those down south and/or those celebrating it. I love family days. :)

I used to work for an American cargo company at Calgary Airport. We always got to celebrate both American and Canadian holidays.

We would be closed on the Canadian holidays and then wouldn't get any freight on the American holidays because the shipping hub was closed. One of the guys in our office was American and had his mom ship up his turkey deep fryer. We had our own American Thanksgiving right there in the warehouse. Good times!

The northern states should have their Thanksgiving in October like we do. I'm sure it'll coincide with their harvest season much better.

1. There's no Macy's in Canada.

2. Our Thanksgiving is in early October.
