Pears
The only way to get 1 or 2 solid defenders is to give up one of their young assets. Or draft picks, which I doubt they will do.
Tystick
Good signing, but stupid that Hall will be getting the same $ as Eberle, on the same too as well...Hall's a spoiled brat who hasn't proved anything....on the other hand, Eberle is just a beast. Garrison
now I'm scared. I thought Eberle would get 7 mil. Oilers are going to win it all.
The Sedin's 6th Sense
Anyone else think the Oilers can make it into the playoffs this year?
zombieksa
I do like them trying to set a bar like the Canucks with their salaries. Sets a good bar for nail and nuge. If the end up signing at 6 each and both end up performing as expected, having those 4 locked up at 24m isn't too bad at all.
Greene02
He's a fast 30 goal scorer at age 20, I think he deserves it.

D-Bo7
Considering the Canucks top 4 forward salaries equal 21.4 mil, I think 24 million for 4 young star players who will likely put up a point per game is pretty good...

vancanfan
Tambellini is doing a good job in Oilerland keeping this young team together, although they still need help on the blue line and in net.

Oilers9977
What happens when Yakupov and The Nuge need new contracts? Are they honestly gonna pay 24m+ For 4 Players? Don't forget about Schultz and the other young guns on that team... I really like the way Edmonton has built their team from the draft...but I see a Chicago-esque collapse in their future. Phil_314
Great signing, Jordan's been clutch all through his time in hockey and last season he already scored at almost a p.p.g. pace. Wouldn't be surprised if one of him or his line-mates became the next captain after Horcoff's salary is off the books. He, Nuge and Hall will make quite the dangerous offensive core for this team for years to come, and if Paajarvi - Gagner - Yakupov pans out they'll have quite the lethal Top-6. Add Dubnyk and possibly Schultz, Petry, Smid and their young D-men (they'll need a couple more D-men though) and they could become the next Blackhawks (agreed with the guy who said it earlier). Ghostsof1915
They can still move Yakupov to get an elite d-man prospect as well. Lots of options for Edmonton.
