Schroeder and Raymond styles fit really nicely together, Kassian adds a nice dimension to the line aswell.

I think we have our 2nd line center.

I'm still excited about Garrison though, looked really good, to me we have 2 top pairs and then a Ballard/Tanev combo that if playing the way they can (2012 Playoffs) can play better than alot of teams 2nd pairs, then we have some solid depth D's after that.

our defense looks really good this year, it's exciting.

Listening to AV, the only way Schroeder doesn't get the spot is because of salary cap issues. It's clear if management can make it work, JS will pivot the second line

I agree, and I'm not too worried about cap space, we have like 2.5 Million in cap space so adding Schroeder won't be an issue IMO.

Glad to see that Schroeder and Raymond have solid chemistry.

Schroeder looks good so far, if he keeps this up i think he gets the 3rd line center role.

H.Sedin
Kesler
Schroeder
Lappiere

No he wont because we got rid of Hodgson because he wasnt considered 3rd line material and schroeder is the same.

I think it helps his cause that he doesn't have to clear waivers to be sent down. I really do believe it's time to give Schroeder his shot

Schroeder is a lot better defensively (at least from what I heard)

He was traded because of the controversy, not his lack of skill.

If JS wins the 3rd line center spot, will MG have the balls to waive Malhotra?

If we decide to get rid of him, I think we can get a draft pick at least.

Why would there be cap issues? We have $9 million in LTIR space...

Schroeder is on a 2 way, so his cap hit disappears when he is sent back down and replaced by Kesler.

hmm... well he's taking up 2.5m taking faceoffs.

We cannot ignore the fact that he isnt the same player anymore.

The guy doesnt hit, cant forecheck and is horrible in the offensive zone.

Weise and Volpatti to battle for the last wing spot on the 4th line.

Say Schroeder gets the 3rd line center, where does Malhotra fit in this lineup?

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Kesler - Booth
Higgins - Schroeder - Hansen
Weise - Lappiere - Kassian

So what number does Schroeder wear if he makes the team (which he should), seeing as they've given Barker 18?

no it wasnt lack of skill, thats not what i meant, i just think that he is not suited for the thir line he more suites for a top 6 forward job.

Luongo had 4 goals against in the shootout... out of 5 shooters. CS won this won clean, 33 saves in a 45 minute game for the SO.

You couldn't be more wrong, this guy got literially no training time, none whatsoever last year. It was rehab then he stepped in not at 100% and was always a step behind, this year he got a full training session in and will be much better.

- He brings faceoffs (arguably the best faceoff guy in the league)
- he is a huge leader on the team
- great PK guy/shot blocker
- solid defensive/shut down guy
- skates well
- extremely hard worker
- loaded with heart, loaded with character
- reliable defensive center
- better offensively than you think
- He can forecheck
- and he can hit

You don't throw away players like that, his cap hit is a little high but isn't an issue, this guy is a great 4th line center but IMO he has the ability to move back up onto that 3rd line, people discredit how badly that injury affected his training last year and how much training he put in this year. We can take his cap hit on. And if Schroeder is a 3C with Kes and Booth back this is where he fits:

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Raymond
Higgins - Schroeder - Hansen
Manny - Lappy - Kassian
Weise

Manny can play LW, this was another reason he was so attractive on July 1st when we picked him up.

Yeah I was wondering too, he did wear 19 in Collage, then 23 when he joined the Moose, and now 18, none of which are avaliable.

I think Barker's regular # is 25, so maybe he will get that number and JS will get 18, although if not who knows.

Im curious to see how the new faceoff rules affect manny as he wont be able to use his hand in the dzone anymore and he does that a ton.

Even if he doesn't crack the 4 center positions, like said above, he fills in on a wing or is kept around for all of his other invaluable assets or for injury fill in etc. You don't just waive the fella.
