In my opinion this could be the western conference final preview. This is the Major reason I want Canucks to show some extra effort against Sharks on Sunday at the loudest Arena in NHL "The Shark Tank".Canucks need to win this 1 to gain some confidence for the upcoming battles against this skilled team.San Jose Sharks (4-0-0) remained unbeaten in 2013 and are 1 win away from their best start in franchise history, standing in the way are Vancouver Canucks.Set the tone early, One Step Ahead - Know your enemy.

Sharks are off to a good start but will they be there at the end. Last year the were lucky just to make the playoffs and went out like a lamb.

They definitely are looking good though.

While I don't think this will be a WCF matchup, SJ doesn't have enough depth imo to get there.

I do however want us to go in there and silence those sharks fans.

You never know, it could happen, but I personally don't see the Sharks in the WCF - not even close. Their blueline will have to shock people imo to get them there, and there's just something about their leadership that spells underachievement - aside from Thornton being a tool.

And the Canucks have been building up their confidence at the expense of San Jose for some time now. ::D

Remember the time when we would never win in The Shark Tank? That changed in 2010-11 season. Since then, we're 5-1 in The Shark Tank, including the playoffs

Certainly going to be our #1 defensemen. Give him a couple more years to improve his game and he'll be our new and improved version of Matthias Ohlund in no time

1 thing that scares me is their offense , 19 Goals in just 4 games so far. This will be a great test for our defense and Schneider of course.

We came in to Anaheim and stopped them of tying their franchise record for best start now lets head to San Jose from setting a new franchise record.

Spotty D and terrible giveaways aren't going to cut it against the Sharks. They are a confident bunch right now and are taking full advantage of every mistake by the opposition......Canucks better be ready.

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

I think the WCF will feature the Canucks and Blues. The two most well rounded (healthy) teams in the West IMO.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Key on Boyle early, dump and chase instead of carrying the puck through the neutral zone, and have Lappy get in Thornton's face as often as possible; watch SJ fall apart.

Maybe Marleau will be feeling feisty again...

Sharks?

They still don't know what defense is, Sedins will destroy them again.

We've always had great success against the Sharks so I'm not worried, even though Thornton and Marleau are ripping up the league right now. It won't last forever.

Hopefully Schneider and our defence can stop these guys because they're putting up record numbers to start the season. 4 consecutive 2-goal games from Marleau is unheard of.

Sharks are looking pretty strong right now. A lot of it has to do with Marleau's great start to the season though. I mean....2 goals a game in 4 straight games? Jeez.

Please pass the Earl Gray.

It'll be a good game.
But lets not ahead of ourselves.

Conference is strong, as usual.

Blues, Hawks, Kings, Sharks, Us.

It will be a challenge for either of these teams to be Conference finalist. Canucks are more likely than SJ simply because of the weak NW division. SJ depends on their top line to much just as Van does. Van's d-core should be stronger over the long run but the 2nd line still has a lot of unanswered questions. Lots of potential does not = success.

Canucks will do well vs the Sharks in the playoffs.

Canucks when healthy will probably beat the kings this time around if they meet in the playoffs. Revenge will be on their minds.

Canucks vs Blackhawks will come down to goaltending. Schneider will shine and so will the canucks.

Last year I didn't want want the canucks to meet LA and I picked LA to win it all. This year they should try to avoid meeting the blues in the playoffs eventhough I dont think the blues will go all the way but they look like a bad matchup for the canucks.

We already did the Sharks in the 2011 WCF. They were no match for us then and I'm confident we could handle them easily again.

Agreed. The Blues seem to have a bit of a Boston and LA thing happening right now.

Gonna be a good'er. We'll be in tough against their hot offense, but that'll make the W that much sweeter.

Regardless the anticipation of the Western Conference Final, there's definitely a few more teams that would fill that spot. If the Canucks show up with their A GAME as they did last game with Anaheim on a consistent basisis, we will be there with a well worthy opponent. Meanwhile, let's take it as it comes and enjoy the build up... :)

Stick someone on Marleau all game long. Maybe 2 guys. Thornton and Marleau are killing it this year. Gotta stay disciplined and not give em a lot of pp time.
