Hey guys, I don't wanna hate or anything, but should the nucks trade Alberts for lets say Korbian Holzer? Or anything else like a draft pick? Just wanted opinions.

If Eric Tangradi could get nothing more than a 7th, Andrew Alberts definitely can not.

Alberts is staying here until we let him go and he signs somewhere else, or throw him into a package as fodder.

No. That would reduce our D depth and our size on the back end for no real benefit in return.

If we could get a better player for a worse player, we would have done it already.

Holzer has much more upside and is a big, young player just coming into the league. We aren't going to be able to trade our 7th/8th defenceman for him straight up.

Tanev is going to EDM. I can put my life savings down on it

True, but what is he gonna do just sitting there? He definetly won't get a start unless injury happens.

He'll just wait his turn. Won't be the first.

Alberts surely will get a few games this year. Can't see our entire top-6 each playing 48 games.

Yeah, that was crazy...along with Loktionov only getting a 5th.

Picks are being held like gold right now.

Well, without Salo, it is quite possible to go 48 games with all of our Defense. No hate on Salo, but the guy gets hurt lacing up his skates.

Why? What's the point? We're not going to get anything out of him.

Keep Alberts. He's good at his job: being a 7th defenseman and team guy.

We will use him near the end to give our top D men rest.

Hamhuis
Bieksa
Edler
Garrison
Ballard
Tanev
Vandermeer
Barker
Alberts
...young prospects...

I think it provides enough depth in case of emergencies. Sure there is a lot of top depth, but what happens if we need someone to fill in and Vandermeer or Barker is also injured. That greatly reduces options.

I always liked Rome and Alberts on this team. Both guys are/were loved in the locker room and as far as depth defensemen go, I think we had two of the best, shame we couldn't have kept wario. Oh well
