Vicky
Been pleasantly surprised with Barker. Having said that I still see him as our depth 7/8 guy. Especially in the playoffs, Alberts gets slotted in before him. Great story though and pulling for Cam to complete a comeback. Hopefully that happens by his lights out solid play and not because our d-corps are injured.
clynch
If AV can justify sitting Ballard for a couple bad games then Edler can sit too.
stawns
Very happy with Barker........playing a simple game with few mistakes. I can see him finding his game and a home in Van.
Niklas Jensen
has been solid for the few games he played up to now. I see his minutes increasing. Hasn't even taken one minor penalty. Solid.
Dogbyte
Not sure why all you CDCers be bashing on Edler - if anything, his play is largely correlated with how our all-star* coaching staff (esp. AV) wants his to play. We've all seen he's capable of being a solid top 2/3 D-man, though he's not an offensive-puck-moving D (e.g. Visnovsky) and not a stay-at-home defensive D either, which AV appears to put him on either spectrum as of recent... As per this topic... probably second best per-dollar D-man on our roster behind Tanev. Solid offensive upside, sufficient defensive capability. Peaches
I've liked him so far. Get's his shot through. Solid defensively. Made that great block on Clowe in the SJ game.
LeanBeef
Needs to work on his positioning and lateral movement (got beat on the sides a few times tonight).
Peaches
You say he's not a puck mover or a stay at home defenceman. That what is he?

Dogbyte
An offensive defenseman. One of the best in the league.
Dustin77
For $700,000 Barker has been a more than valuable depth defenceman. Hasnt been a superstar, but hes not supposed to be either. Has done his lob well, stepped in and provided steady play after some injuries to our defence. Has shown that he can play when needed. While Im not a fan of Alberts, both he and Barker have come in and done a decent job of replacing our top guys. They have shown that we have defensive depth and that Gillis is now able to concentrate on getting some depth in the top 6 at the deadline instead. thad
Edler gets beat on the outside after tripping and Columbus scores because Henrik backed off to the far side of the net and didn't play strong to cover Edler: a bunch of Edler threads calling him a useless piece of trash. Barker gets walked around leaving the player with a semi-breakaway but they don't score: he hasn't really screwed up yet and is better than Edler. MoneypuckOverlord
very good. exceeded my expectations. As a filler defencemen he's been playing ver good. Shots actually go through, to the net, even though is a harmless play, all we need is fowards to the net, and it can turn into a scoring chance. Surprised for sure. He's also playing rusty too. Can't wait to see how he will play after he shakes off the rust.
Kass9
One thing I have noticed about Barker is that he is the only freaking Canucks player on the point to be able to get a shot through.
