Canucks get ripped in Province Letter To Editors

This guy is an idiot.

In case he didn't know the Canucks were one shot away from being eliminated that year in the first round, then where does that arguement go? Heart would have meant absolutely nothing in that case.

Those that suggest that hockey players don't play with heart in the playoffs or suggest that there was a lack of effort on the Canucks this year don't understand pro hockey that well. Factors such as personel choices by the GM and Coach were far bigger factors. I certainly did not see a lack of effort from the team despite what the whiners try to claim. Refereeing, bad bounces, lack of goal scoring once again, bad goalie situation, these are viable claims.

Heart can overcome great odds to help a team but anyone that suggests a loss can simply be labelled as no heart are ignorant of hockey at the NHL level.

Such a joke.

Bolland calls the Sedins sisters, who cares--he's just being a troll. Canucks respond? Classless.

Doughty calls out the Canucks for whining just before a game, omg he's so right. Kings continue to whine the whole game? They are champions.

What I've learned about being a Canucks fan is that other teams/fans can whine and dive all they want. If we do it? Classless.

"Remember, a last-place team that plays with heart will always beat a first-place team that dives and whines - even when it loses!"

Of course, history will forget about that last place team, and will hold in reverence the champions.

I'll gladly go for the team that wins, period. Play with heart, clutch-and-grab, or do it soccer-style....just get the win.

There are many reasons we lost to San Jose but organ size wasn't the key factor.

Heart is an incredibly misused term as it always seems to imply that if you lose, you didn't have enough desire. Hate to break it to everyone, but the 94 team lost. Maybe they didn't leave anything on the ice, but they still lost to a more skilled team. Or did the Rangers have more "heart" in the end?

Too often goonplay is labeled as a team with "heart and character" and a skilled team is villified. It's not hard to accomplish because who wants to accept the success of what we already know is good? Better the underdog showing "heart" in the face of adversity.

On the other side of the coin there are players that are labelled correctly. Stevie Y carrying his team on one leg and Linden (who should have won the Con Smythe and was robbed of even that) being a superstar after taking one of the most overlooked cheepshots in hockey the game previous. But their skill is what followed. You need skill and heart to win. You can't sacrifice one for the other.

In the end you still might lose, heart notwithstanding.

Rose colored glasses. Aside from the 94 playoffs the 90s were terrible for the Canucks and if this dunce can't see the past few years have been the best in franchise history he's out to lunch.

edit: not that that's saying much. <_<
