isa dillman@reallisa
Slava Voynov deal done. Six years, $25 million.

a hefty raise was to be expected, and he sure got it... that cap hit is huge for a player who's only had two good seasons, even with all his potential. (edit) although when you consider his comparables, probably worth it, especially if he continues progressing in the same way. Josi got $4m after all, and aging players like Streit and Gonchar get $5m+...

Better than Doughty at 7.

And Voynov's pay this season was better than any Canuck D yet he still has a lower cap hit than most of our guys.

So I'd say it's a very good signing.

I would be pleased as punch if you pressed this green button.

Great player, so much better than Edler and just going to get better.

Wow. LA got an amazing deal. Voynov is going to be one hell of a defenceman.

Definitely a "strike while the iron's hot" kind of signing. They have this stud for the next 6 years at a great cap hit. It will probably go down much like the Dustin Brown signing. He has been playing for cheap for years now!

Wow now that's a home town discount! And we thought Bieksa and Garrison's contracts were good lol

LA got a great deal, not sure what the OP is talking about, it is definitely worth it. Voynov is only going to get better. He's more valuable to the Kings than Doughty right now, imo.

I don't think you read what I said properly, because I stated that he is worth it, considering comparables and the market for defencemen.

Hah, i read it before your edit. Even without considering the market, his deal is still worth it.

Wow, in 2 years he will become a superstar and he will be so cheap for that great of a player. Just sometimes money gets to players head, hopefully that doesn't happen to Voynov.

Kevin Fiala will be a star.

That's a pretty good deal for LA, he's only going to get better.
