We could have salvaged a season if we had pulled the trigger on Willie around the time Boston made their coaching change

instead we stuck with twitchy and headed to the cellar

So now we tank .... again

Overconfident Oilers team came out with a garbage effort, obviously riding the high from the last two wins, against a gutsy and hard-working Vancouver team.

I got it 50% right. I didn't think the Nucks would get as unlucky with the posts as they did (obviously), or this is another SOL just as NYE was.

He deserved better tonight.

It'll be interesting what they do with him next year because from the 2 games he's played for us here, he sure looks like an NHL goalie.

This was talked about on the radio after his last game, the felling was that he has NHL skill but not the size, if he was bigger he'd be playing in the NHL , guy deserved a W tonight

The Oilers are literally McDavid and Talbot.

Back in 2007, the Canucks were literally the Sedins + Luongo

The Oilers will not be able to handle the defensive and physical play that picks up once the playoffs start

they won't make it past round 1

Never said they weren't. Luongo carried them to the playoffs that year. Sedins were phenomenal. But it doesn't take away the fact that the Oilers are the same thing.

Wasn't our yr, man..humps, bumps & mumps

Just good that WD's ineptitude ensures a high pick.

A smart coach that wants to see what a guy could do would have put Boucher with the twins but no idiot Willie puts Chaput with them

what is s sad is JB does not have the backbone to punt him .... yet

he will have to. either that or fans will vote with their wallets. next season will be a tough one especially if willie is behind the bench.

No biggie -- we've shown we can compete with the mighty McCoilers with our junky transition team.  Just wait till we actually get our good prospects into the lineup.

Exactly.

What's to be mad about?

Outplayed Edmonton with half of Utica in the lineup.

Got the necessary loss for the higher pick everyone wants.

Another opportunity to blame everything on Willie.

Perfect storm.

Blah blah blah

get over it his clock is ticking down gramps , I know you seniors stick together but maybe you and Willie can go sit in McDonalds together and read the paper and have free coffee refills all day next season?

tick tick tick tick

Our team right now is a bunch of AHL plugs with one line that's actually a threat. The Oilers got outplayed by us still!

Nikita Tryamkin played the least amount of mins on the Dcore, and probably was the best one of the 6.  16:25, as Sbisa got 20 mins, and Edler with 23 mins.

Brandon Sutter played 20 mins, as Bo only played 18....Sutter literally is playing with one good hand and is playing the most of the forward group.  In reality, Sutter should be shut down so he can heal that wrist...he isn't doing anything good for us playing injured, not at this point of the season.

Edler consistently getting 23-27 mins a game is very important to Willie since 23 hasn't played enough NHL games yet for the coaching staff to get a good read on him.

Tryamkin didn't look gassed last game, or this one. He should be getting 20 minutes every game till year's end. And yes, Willie, he's earned it.

Maybe the fact that Megna got more ice time than Boucher, and Sutter got more ice time than Horvat?
