That’s a positive season report. Trio of Karla son playing with aman and hog lander as 2 way third line seems like a legit possibility

Cap… Wait it out a year or pay a price to make space?
flat land fish replied to Junkyard Dog's topic in Canucks Talk
Other than offloading an expensive winger or two would probably be wise to be patient on cap. If the expensive veterans d don’t perform make them watch from the press box and use some of our minor league depth. With the addition of hronek everyone should slide down the depth chart a bit and minutes should be easier. -
It appears some of the strategy is to keep rates at atleast current levels so the bulk of the consumer sector is priced at 4-6 percent on mortgage debt. we are still seeing strong activity in many parts of the economy and consumers seem to be resilient more so than most would have expected. For those with the mortgages with maturity 2,3, or 4 years away if it were my money I would setup my finances to absorb minimum what rates are now no guarantee they will drop anytime soon.

[Signing] Canadiens re-sign Caufield
flat land fish replied to goalie13's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
That was a freak situation covid season Canadian division. Montreal probably isn’t a playoff team that year without that scenario. I think caufield is a good hockey player I just don’t believe that style of player leads you to a cup. -
[Signing] Canadiens re-sign Caufield
flat land fish replied to goalie13's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I think the challenge with caufield, debrincat and even lump in Gaidreau these are very skilled players and they will rack up a lot of points. I’m just not convinced these extremely diminutive guys are going to be great two way players and be able to sustain production in the playoffs. -
[Signing] Canucks re-sign Jett Woo
flat land fish replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
When i saw the topic I was thinking it could have been one of those two year deals where the second year is a one way contract to make him safer from waivers. Belt tightening in Canuck land. -
I think a good season plan would be to play anywhere from the first quarter to half a season in Abby and then join the team permanently around mid-season should ensure he gets enough reps to keep improving.

The height thing for him is irrelevant, he’s tall enough for an NHL goalie, good mental toughness and has shown good consistency at lower levels. Pretty much just needs a consistent NHL run but for a younger goalie all signs are very promising.

Right on more hardware, those guys might end up with a bronze statue near the Arena!

What a fantastic run for Silovs and Latvia

What a great development opportunity to be the guy in net for an underdog country. He will be well seasoned to suit up for Canucks and the peppering the tendies sometimes endure

The large corps definitely influence government policy more than the general public. The over the top Deficit spending is ridiculous and is a major problem. In capitalism Their needs to be both winners and losers and the way I see it the government interventions have simply delayed the loser side of capitalism in both companies and individuals and will likely result in more losers as a result when the house of cards comes down.

I hear where you are coming from. The way I see it is North America speaking mostly of Canada and the US are starting to mature in the way Europe did once a land of opportunity now much of the wealth is accumulating with fewer and fewer people. In the biggest cities buying and paying off a home in a lifetime might not be possible(for most). we are also in the high point of a commodity cycle that’s lasted about 3 years about a year and a half longer than it would have without the Ukraine war. the longer inflation Carries on the poorer the average person becomes

The duration of inflation is in part due to excessive government spending. Initial inflation came due to the imbalance in supply and demand 6-12 months after the pandemic. Energy prices had experienced demand destruction and as normal demand resumed the sector couldn’t ramp up quickly enough. Normal supply response never was achieved due to clean energy policies discouraging investment. Fuel inflation made everything we buy more expensive. Then tag on a war involving two major food exporters and further disrupting commodities. Government likes high fuel prices as it helps support transition to electric cars etc. until fuel prices are reduced it will be difficult to get inflation reeled in to less than 2.5%

Coyotes lose vote for new arena - future unclear

For sure corporate sponsorship and small tv market make it a fantasy. Temporary home would be interesting. -

The rink the Saskatoon blades play in has a pretty similar capacity as the Jets arena. -
By the second half of next season filip johansson

Who here is actually happy with the Hronek trade?
flat land fish replied to Odd.'s topic in Canucks Talk
I think dpetey has the tools in time to be a good complimentary guys to hronek. Jurmo would be a longer shot but tools are tantalizing. Johansson on the right hand side with the longer shot being Woo. Hirose looks like there is something there as well. To compliment either of Hughes or hronek need defense first who skates well all of those guys have that level of upside.
