  1. Boeser played really well in the playoffs, especially from a effort level standpoint. We knew it was gonna be a learning experience for the kids. We gotta hope he learns ways to produce in the playoffs. Where it's faster and more tightly checked. What works in the regular season doesn't always work in the playoffs. This was an opportunity for him to see that first hand. When pucks weren't going in, his response tells me a lot about him. He battled out there. I like that. He's not someone I wanna get rid of. He has heart and soul. Great locker room guy.
  2. Why? Borgstrom has higher upside and is younger. Just seems like a very high risk low reward move for Florida. I really like Borgstrom though. If we could swing him for Virtanen sign me up asap.
  3. 5th overall and we dump Eriksson? Do we have incriminating pictures of Dorion somewhere?
  4. The Tuch comparison is funny, cause Tuch was being played 15-16+ minutes with much better linemates. Jake's deployment was anywhere from 8 minutes to 15. But very rarely ever above 14-15. How is he supposed to have an impact playing fewer minutes with lesser linemates? I dunno, he wasn't great but he wasn't bad. Move him for Lias Andersson or a really solid D prospect. I'd like to see Jake on a team with a really good coach just to see if my faith in him was wrong all these years.
  5. I meant before he moved to Buffalo, there was talk Chicago was moving one of their young Ds and Jokiharju was the guy I figured would be the most likely to move. Would have been nice to make a move for him at that time.
  6. I been ready for a Jake move for years now. Would have been nice to target Jokiharju when his name was floating around. Targeting a young D prospect would be the most ideal move. Using Jake to move out a cap dump also isn't too bad of an idea.
  7. Keeping Marky almost feels like it'll cost us Demko. Is Marky gonna sign a good deal for us if we aren't gonna protect him? I guess he can find solace in the fact even if he gets drafted by Seattle he's still on the west coast. But still. Something tells me he's gonna want draft protection. This is the most interesting contract to watch for this season. We need a expansion eligible goalie, so we can't really let Marky go or trade Demko. Since I don't think DiPietro is eligible. And I don't see Domingue staying to backup DiPietro in the AHL. Do we still have Bachman?
  8. Benning already said they aren't going into Free Agency. I imagine they may target some cheap depth players but not full time roster players there. So even if Stech is let go he won't be replaced from Free Agency. It'll be from within. Juolevi or Rafferty likely have first shot at that spot.
  9. Imagine talks with Stecher don't really start to pick up until after they re-sign Tanny and/or Marky. Stech is all heart, but I gotta say I hope management doesn't go a dollar over 2mil. Even then I'd really like to see 1.5 but that's very much not likely. Although anything can happen with these mid-low tier players. They can get 3mil or 1mil and we'll never know how they got there. Would be nice to have him though. Good 3rd pair guy.
  10. Imagine getting rid of Eriksson and Baer AND walking home with two 2nd rounders. Love Demko, but I dunno if he's THAT good just yet.
  11. If Ferdaddy's melon wasn't so broken and bruised. Rooster I'd argue borderline cost us two games himself. As well as being a non factor in the other 5. AND you could argue his antics game one injected life into Reeves and Lehner. Having Ferland in instead of Rooster very likely would have won us one of those 4 games we lost. I'd even argue Vegas isn't as into the series as they were just by virtue of not having Roussel out there.
  12. No thank you. Just keep Marky/Demko. Let Seattle take the one we don't protect. Which is likely Marky, if they even find value in taking a 31 year old goalie.
  13. Lets go Dallas. Heiskanen is my fav player in the series, so that's the team I'll cheer for. Lol.
  14. 18 goal scoring 4th liner. Crazy. Jake is by far our best bottom 6er in terms of production, even if you consider this year an anomaly and consider him closer to the 10-13 goal range. And arguably best in physicality. Motter throws a lotta hits but at his size they are glorified bumps. Not saying he's our best bottom 6 player, but he's by no means a 4th line talent. He is a middle 6 player that can play anywhere in the lineup. They don't go for 1mil and you're outta your mind if you think that's what he's worth. Haters gonna hate man.
  15. A Max Domi for Matt Dumba type deal. Some rumors/speculation on Twitter that Minnie is shopping Dumba. They want a center. Domi wants to play center and is pretty decent in the faceoff dot. 48% isn't world changing but it's decent. In opposite conferences. I imagine Montreal isn't swimming in top 4 RD outside of Weber. Depends on how highly Minnie may value Domi's ability to play center.
  16. Miller and Hughes. And it's not even close. Marky I knew was gonna be good. Demko was a surprise in his few playoff starts. But in the regular season he was pretty par for the course. Was good here and there. Kinda fell off when Marky was injured and he got too many starts but looked good for a rookie. Motter had one heck of a playoffs too though.
  17. Yeah, but you gotta imagine after the 3rd concussion the levy was gonna break on his health. There was a reason nobody really touched him in Free Agency. The term and the NMC make little sense given the market for him seemed non existent at the time, likely due to his concussion history. I love Benning, I defend a lot of his moves. This signing was pretty bad and it was super high risk at the time of signing. It's a shame too. I really hoped he could be healthy and help this team. Coulda used him against Vegas instead of Rooster.
  18. Horvat over a 82 game season would have had 62 points, with the pace he was at. Bo was Captain but anyone coulda guessed that. Demko took over as starter. Kinda. Lol. Canucks made the playoffs. Decent predictions there. Boeser didn't come close to 30 goals. Let alone my 36 goal prediction. Petey woulda finished with like 78-80 points with the pace he was at. Close-ish to my 84 point guess. Hughes took a dump on my prediction and decided to be a god. So that was pretty cool. Kinda wish I went with more grandiose predictions now that I look at the predictions I made.
  19. Again, it's not hindsight. There were hundreds of normal ass fans that seen his concussion history and were worried. A professional GM and his staff should have also seen the writing on the wall. 2 year deal would have been fine. Not only was it 4 years but he has a NMC too. Love Benning, but it was a bad contract. Even at the time of the signing I was a little worried but stayed hopeful he could stay healthy.
  20. I'm done hoping they use Jake more. I don't see this coaching staff using Jake in more meaningful ways.
  21. Our defense and team defense sucked all year. I been saying it all year. Our PP skates in quicksand as well. It's like they are walking up the ice. Not here calling for heads. But our coaching staff also needs to learn from this playoff run. Not just the players.
  22. If Marky and Toff agree to team friendly 5mil deals we can maybe keep em both. Likely would require dumping both Rooster and Sutter. Given the cap troubles nearly everyone will be in not sure how likely that is though. Only walk away from Marky if his ask goes above 6mil per. Love Demko but at least one more season of backup duty isn't the end of the world for him.
