  1. My guess is Allvin will wait until the TDL, play the patience game. But I also expect there to be a flurry of activity for the Canucks at this time. Team like NYR, FLA, CAR and BOS will be wanting to shore up their rosters for a deep run. I see Vegas has caught on to the Lightning's plan - How to Cheat your way to a Cup, with sitting Stone for the rest of the year. Eichel joins them as well. so yeah, Canucks eh? Maybe Dickinson will start scoring
  2. It's about time really. Building from the top down. Really liked the management hires, but I'm also impatient and want to see improvements with the roster. This is the same team they had with Benning and Green. Sure, they're having better results since the coaching changes, but they still can't string 2-3 wins together (not since that first streak when Bruce was hired). Things have settled down now and they're still giving up too many shots. Is it going to take Pettersson half a season every year before he feels like himself? Canucks need him to be good from Game 1. The D still needs help, but I guess until they're eliminated from the playoffs, they'll assume they're good enough. Looking forward to the Trade deadline. I like what JR said about not being in any rush to make changes. Other GMs realize they'll have to up the offer if they want Miller. Excited about the future, but I'm still watching the team from the past.
  3. Gotta be honest, I don't know much about him. Similar to DeBrusk? (but a C)
  4. Is he faster? Does he use his size? If so, then he could be a good addition. I don't think they trade Boeser for Zacha though, maybe Garland?
  5. It's amazing how they've fallen. The Habs used to be so prestigious, the class of the league, held in such high respect. Okay, maybe that was 40 years ago.
  6. Is anyone else surprised JR and Allvin haven't done anything yet and continue to move ahead with Benning's roster?

Not at all...  this roster is doing well under a new coach.

We would've been a playoff team had we not started so badly under Green. JR and Allvin are making the smart decision to first learn what they have here.

@Tom Sestito Which is still a better pace than what we had going under Green before he was fired. Which says a LOT.

    4. Odd.

      Odd.

Reality is the chances of us realistically making the playoffs is slim.

Our record is probably the only thing that’s stopping them right now. We’ve been hovering around .500 for awhile now, a middle of the pack team entering the 3rd quarter of the season.

This team can either pull another 7 game win streak out of its ass, or continue to play WLWLWL up until the deadline, in which case if the latter is the outcome, I expect us to sell.

Alvin and co at this point most likely have all the info and scouting reports from top to bottom of this organization. They’re just playing the waiting game.

We won’t see a move until closer to the deadline assuming we are still hovering .500

  7. This was the 1800s, the wild west you might say. Almost everything went at the time. People hardly lived past 40. But Jerry Lee Lewis' marrying his 13 year old cousin in the late 50s? Now that was something scandalous.
  8. It's very tough to acquire Top 4 D, expensive, especially the RDs. This might be the time to really upgrade the D with a good young(ish) player. As KyGuy said, they should be built from the net out. I completely agree. The Canucks have a world class goalie entering his prime, they have Hughes who is on another level of puck moving D. OEL and Myers are pretty decent, and who knows with Hamonic. I love Schenn, but he's not a Top 4 Dman. JR said they would like to be a contender in 2 years, a consistent playoff team. So, I think bringing in a proven young Dman could help them now and for years to come. OEL - Myers Hughes - ?? - Braden Schneider+ - Nils Lundkvist++ - Brandon Carlo+ - Brett Pesce+ - John Marino+ - Brandon Montour+ - Mikael Sergachev straight up - Jake Bean++
  9. What did Kesler get under extreme pressure and only having one team to go to? (C) Bonino (LD) Sbisa 1st 3rd geez, Benning got hosed So, Miller should get ______________ with several teams bidding?
  10. I hope another team comes up with an offer that blows the NYR offer away Must have K'Andre Miller or Braden Schneider - don't need Lundkvist, already have Rathbone They don't even want Kravtsov, anytime soon anyway. They already have Kakko and Lafreniere. So, we'll take Kravtsov off their hands too. The 1st will be more like a high 2nd, so whip-de-do We'll also take Chytil Too bad NYR, if you want a Cup, you're gonna pay
  11. Canucks should get a big haul back if they traded Miller, but if the offer doesn't knock their socks off, then just keep him. They have him all next year too. Boeser, on the other hand, is going to become a pricey winger soon.
  12. I saw someone suggest that Boeser's value would be way more than Toffoli. Could they possibly trade Brock instead?
  13. Ekman-Larsson - Myers Hughes - Schenn Hunt - Hamonic Rathbone - Poolman ?? - Burroughs ?? - Juulsen ?? - Woo Canucks actually need left shot D, everyone's so obsessed with the right shot Dman (LD) K'Andre Miller (RW) Vitali Kravtsov (C/LW) Filip Chytil 1st (2022)
  14. At first I thought: The Canucks will get a King's ransom for Miller. Then I thought: Better not get my hopes up, the return might be underwhelming. But now I'm thinking again: Seeing what CGY paid to get Toffoli, Miller could get a huge haul. Apparently NYR are still very interested in Miller and from what I understand their offer was something like Lundkvist, Chytil and a 1st. Maybe Allvin and his team are considering this, but they could probably get a lot more. I suspect they'll be very patient with Miller, and let NYR up the ante the closer they get to the TDL. I think Schneider, Lafreniere and Kakko are non-starters for the Rags. Chytil, Kravtsov, Lundkvist, a 1st (2022) and 2nd (2023) for Miller (50%) This would set the Canucks up nicely moving forward
  15. True, Allvin is a new GM with a new team, under the veteran Rutherford. He might be very careful about any moves he makes. JR has an open approach to his managers, everyone's opinion matters, and should speak up, and I wonder if this will cause roadblocks making some moves, difference of opinions. I think VAN will become a contender a lot faster than MTL. They're a real mess.
  16. Lames re also going after Chiarot, apparently. Where are they getting the dough? Could Monahan be going the other way?
  17. Hearing Toffoli possibly going to CGY They sure loves them ex-Canucks Is Trevliving still trying to out GM Jim Benning?
  18. So many flags when the Rams were 1st and Goal. Someone bought this Win
  19. I heard Drake bet over a million ($1.25) in crypto currency on the Rams so, Go Bengals Year of the Tiger
  20. VAN isn't going to just let Garland go for peanuts, but NJ might not be willing to give up Ty Smith Zacha, Mukhamadullin, and 1st (lotto protected?) a player, promising prospect and a high pick sounds pretty good to me
