Guys like Brickley, Howden, Kulikov, not exactly top prospects.

they have one though...who has a solid 2-4 years left.  Luongo showing no signs of slowing.  Plenty of time to get a replacement.  And those I mentioned are the regulars, most aren't prospects anymore.  Kuliov is a easily a top 4 d-man and is for them.

not really just read Lebrun's article saying the Kings might be looking for a righty d-man and Buff could be an option if the Jets to get him extened

Also the Habs are Canadian..league will trip up Cdn-contenders in one way, or another...

Fantastic news. It really is. Hopefully the Canucks finally get some luck and they realize they need to rebuild and accept it.

If you can't withstand a couple injuries the team is simply not good enough and needs more depth and higher end talent.

If the Canucks suck this year miss the playoffs and somehow by some miracle draft a elite franchise player like Matthews or Chyuchrun they will be a playoff team easily next year.

Question is can management stomach being bad for one year to get a franchise player?
