Just to get him going. Boeser has always had his most success playing alongside Horvat imo. Think back to the 2016-2018 days. If it doesn't work, switch Boeser and Hoglander around. My biggest concern in going with Pearson-Dickinson-Boeser right from the get go is that Boeser would continue to be useless down there. At least Hoglander would be able to help drive play on that Dickinson line.

You make a very strong case for sure. Even though Bergevin fired Claude Julien, I believe they are still on good terms. Question is - does Bergevin still have gas in the tank? He might need a break. Remember how when Torts came here and stunk in 2013 as a coach? One reason being is that he was burned out from his gig in NYR and likely could have used a break. Wondering if the Canucks are just better off firing both Benning and Weisbroad, while re-hiring Linden (President) and Gillis (GM). Ownership kisses and makes up with those men and gets saved from a PR perspective.

Good arguments but I think I'd pass. His feud with Carolina's GM was downright embarrassing and he ended up losing as well. That, plus all of the other reasons mentioned in this thread.

I would normally agree with this (Miller as well), but do you feel confident that both players will re-sign here on July 1st 2023? Also, given our current cap restraints, do you expect this team to make it past the first round over these next few years even with a new coach? (Let alone qualify for the playoffs). I’m not so sure.

My team in the East is the Islanders but they’re struggling like we are. Ps - my team in the East is the Islanders because my ex girlfriend dumped me on the same day that Tavares left the Islanders to join the Leafs. Since that time, the Islanders and their fans developed a chip on their shoulder and their........(chippiness?) kind of resonated with me. I’m also a Seahawks fan and so their crazy fans kind of reminded me of my fellow Seahawks fans. That Islanders-Leafs game where Tavares returned to Long Island and the fans went crazy also coincided with the time that I was starting to feel better about my break-up.......so yeah, if the Nucks can’t win it, I hope the Isles get their $&!# together.

Disagree. Babcock’s presence would likely deter players from wanting to sign here. Who knows - maybe if we sign Claude Julien and clear some cap, we could convince Patrice Bergeron to sign here in July. :-p 1) Move Horvat and Miller for two elite prospects. 2) Replace Green and Benning with Julien and........Mike Gillis? 3) Get someone like Shane Wright or Conor Geekie at the draft. 4) Convince a guy like Bergeron to sign here and mentor our up coming core.

To be honest, I probably would do a Kane (50% retained) for Pearson type deal. Hockey wise, he’s just exactly what we need. I’m torn. E.Kane-Horvat-Garland Hoglander-Miller-Boeser Podkolzin-Pettersson-Dowling etc I’d probably go Miller-Horvat-E.Kane Podkolzin-Pettersson-Garland Hoglander-Dickinson-Boeser etc.

For me: 1) Fire Green + make Brad Shaw interim coach 2) Sometime between now and trade deadline = Miller to ??? for [elite prospect] / Horvat to NYR for Braden Schneider + 3) End of season = Fire Benning and Weisbrod. Rehire Gillis as GM + Trevor Linden as President. Ownership does a MAJOR kiss and make-up. 4) Draft = Shane Wright or Conor Geekie

I would have originally been onboard with Evander but given where we are in the standings, combined with rumors of a lockerroom rift, I’m going to go ahead and say no to Kane. It’s a shame to because personality aside, he’s exactly what this team needs from a hockey skills perspective.

All good points, Just an FYI - my above roster, in that hypothetical, would be for the 23-24 season. My idea being that a UFA on July 1st 2022 would still be open to coming due to how potentially stacked our roster would be in the future. As far as the Rangers or Islanders go, I’m inclined to say yes? Teams go absolutely crazy at the deadline in their desperation to win the cup. Horvat and Miller have good cap hits with some term and so I believe that those guys would land us two elite prospects.
