Over the last few years I’ve realized arguing with Trump supporters/defenders is a complete waste of time. Doesn’t matter what he does he does no wrong in their eyes.
-
@Tystick Trump supporters should be distinguished from Trump voters. I understand that someone might be inclined to vote for Trump based on their political inclinations. Trump supporters the majority of them are just certified morons who are pointless to debate with.

I hope that moron who harassed Pettersson gets publicly vilified.

I just love how there’s absolutely zero media mention about what Rielly said but when there was a rumour about something Burrows said they made him out to be the worst person in NHL history.

Watching Nashville. Every tush has at least one d involved. They create odd man opportunities all over the ice. D zone, neutral zone, and o zone. D and centres support pucks.

Looks like Tavares' feelings were hurt. That whole sequence was pure cringe. Just stop with your pettyness Toronto.

Looks like its an AHL backup for the Leafs game on Saturday

At what age is it no longer acceptable to engage in "gaming"?
-
I stopped gaming a long time ago. I found that it sucked up too much of my time and I was a completionist so the trophies and the easter eggs, I had to have everything. So I gave it up cold turkey and decided that I wanted to do more with my life than chase pixelated achievements. But I won't judge anyone else who enjoys it. You only live the one life, how you choose to spend it is your business and no one else's.

Help me settle a bet with the wife. It is not normal for 25-30yr old guys to go to the tanning salon.
-
I am in that age range currently and I can't say that I have heard of it so it can't be all that common. Then again there maybe a few things that I do that other men normally may not.
As a matter of principle I have no issue with anyone dressing or looking the way they want to. Nothing gives you more confidence than knowing that you are looking your best so damn the haters and dress and look the way you want to.

“They were hitting, holding, cutting, grabbing, clutching, hitting,” Nurse fumed. “It’s been going on all year. I do not understand why they are letting everyone play one of the best players in the league so physically. I do not understand it.”
Oh Darnell how dare people actually hit McDavid lol

Raised this question in another thread.
Would you deal Demko, if we could land a 2019 1st r pick, or top RhD prospect?
I think our two big Swedes might be a better tandem than we have realized. Especially if we had a deeper team playing proper team-D in front of them.

Bertuzzi Sucker Punch...
Bet you didn't see that coming
As far as the play, he is definitely getting a couple. He should get a mulligan IMO seeing as its Matt Calvert.

Gudas pulled a Matheson yesterday except fortunately the result wasn't an injury which also likely means there won't be any supplemental discipline. I also don't believe there was a suspension coming to Matheson had the fanbase not collectively blown a gasket. I just believe the NHL still has way too many dinosaurs who look at a player body slamming another into the ice as, "Good hard play. He was just stronger than the other guy."

Can there really ever be enough stories about the Leafs?
-
The obvious answer for why they get coverage is because they get ratings. The more interesting question is how they get those ratings. You don't have to be good or even popular to drive ratings but you have to be something that people care about. I think the hatred for the Leafs actually drives ratings for the networks. In response we should treat them with indifference. Now how do I convince people to stop hate-watching the Leafs.

I need to stop with the candy. I bought 4 bags of it at the QFC last week. It was on sale for $1.99 each, and have been nibbling on it every single day, like the little breakfast snack I just had. I have a pile of empty candy wrappers on my coffee table. Nibbling here and there. Taking it to work and such. And the candy is still on sale. Oh my!

Are Leaf's fans the worst for invading other teams' discussion boards?

Who knew that when Tortorella called Booth a "weird dude", it was the understatement of the year. I knew there were people on here who never liked him. I always thought it was because of his hunting, seems they had a better measure of him than I did.
-
Quite honestly? It's an ad, the whole purpose of an ad is to sell product. My knowledge of ads and marketing is limited to watching the TV show Mad Men (an excellent series which I encourage you to check out if you haven't).
Therefore to me the only intelligent argument against the ad has to be that it alienates certain customers by using a controversial figure to deliver it's message. But clearly Nike seems to believe that the buzz the ad will generate will attract more customers (especially younger ones) than it will turn away. They also have a global customer base, ones who don't have any vested interest in American politics.
If you are asking about the messages in the ad, neither of them contain any intellectual or political message to critique.
Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.
Just do it.
The ad and the message is only powerful because of the athletes it invokes. Otherwise both messages are way to ambiguous to logically refute.
I am curious to see where our viewpoints diverge.

Let's be honest. The reason he's really being jumped on by the internet mob is because he's a conservative.
Nah this is just more conservative victimhood. Expressing any political opinion is opening yourself up for criticism on the internet. Remember that Twitter has a large conservative audience.
I highly doubt that Twitter would be any kinder to him if he expressed his issues with the ad in a more intelligent way.
I disagree, when you thoroughly debase yourself with a stupid, illogical argument, you will get called a moron by the masses and memes will be created in your name. Put forth an intelligent argument and you will still be criticized but at least you will leave with your dignity intact.
I think we can both agree that this is literally the stupidest criticism to that ad. He was promptly dunked on by the internet because he is a moron...
Also let's be honest the only reason conservatives are up in arms over that ad is because it features Colin Kaepernick, if it didn't feature him, not a single snowflake would have burnt the stuff they already paid money for.

Never trusting Netflix synopses again... If people want to punish themselves watch “left behind”. I had no idea what I was going into.

This reminds me of my time in university, when one of my friends lent me a DVD of a Cameron Diaz movie "The Box". After a couple of other friends who were present at the time also gave rave reviews, I decided to watch it.
The movie actually had a decent hook but the eventual execution and ending just made you go "WTF did I just watch". I immediately texted my friend making clear my displeasure including some choice words. Soon enough I learned that I had been the victim of a prank.
Suffice to say the DVD made its way around our residency. When you have been burned, it makes you all the more amenable to pass it on to next person.
