  1. I turned it off when St Louis scored on an own goal. In what pro league does a goalie not call off a guy in front of him from touching the puck, or ball? Brutal.
  2. Anyone watch the Seattle/Petes game earlier? I don't see NHL in any of those kids, but that's me seeing any of them except Milic play 1 game this season. I sure hope the Canucks don't trade that #11 unless they move up to 3-6.
  3. You don't watch hockey do you? The coaching staff must be completely useless too then, right? He was playing third line minutes, and played second unit power play time in games I watched.
  4. I regret never seeing her perform in concert. She is a legend.
  5. We know this for sure? If so, I'd say the Stars will do anything to get rid of him in the off season.
  6. Well, I never saw anything from him that said NHL player. To me, he looked disinterested. So long, it's been a slice.
  7. What are you talking about??? I'm referring to the games I saw him play in ABBY! Keep up!
  8. His game has vastly improved for being down in Abby. The two games I saw him play, he didn't look out of place at all, and that pass out of his own zone is NHL level. In order down in Abby, Rathbone, Wolanin, and Woo/Juulsen a close third.
  9. He is, but maybe the Leafs should spend some of that cap money on defense. A healthy Canuck defense is better than anything they ice.
  10. Tom Scallen, McNall, Skalbania, yep, they're right up there with the best of them. The wall of shame.
  11. Who was the guy involved with the Canucks in the beginning? He served time too. Don't ask me how that was allowed. It shows how the top of the NHL seems to attract these investors, without any vetting. Phoenix from the beginning was a gong show.
  12. My choices, in no particular order. Quebec City, Portland Ore., Houston, and Milwaukee. Salt Lake and San Diego could be an option, as they are already minor league teams. But, let's hold our horses, Bettman doesn't like to admit to failure, so I'm sure he'll do his best to try and persuade the City to get this on track, vote be damned.
  13. With many more FANS involved. I suppose those who support the franchise are saying, without the Coyotes a guy named Auston Matthews wouldn't be playing in the NHL. Think of all the kids in Canada that moved from home at 14 or 15 to play in hockey academies, and later into junior programs. Time to cut bait and put the team into a hockey market.
  14. The citizens are casting their ballots for the Coyotes new arena today. Get the popcorn out, this is going to be hilarious if it's turned down.
  15. I, for one back in the day didn't appreciate what he was doing in his career. Mainly because he used to totally light up the Canucks regularly. He was in a class of his own, and I do agree, probably the best athlete ever. Jordan is a very close second, as you could say he took time off to play ball (suspended, I believe). But, he came back and won championships. The gruel of an NHL season, with all the travel, etc., really does set Gretzky apart from the others. Ball players and football players don't have the longevity to get into this conversation in my opinion. Tiger and Jack, yes, they are up there, but are golfers really athletes? Just kidding. Do any of you remember that sports show that would pit athletes against each other from different sports, and compete in speed, agility, and strength? Gretzky and Brian Budd dominated that show.
  16. He was the only true d man in the Florida series. He priced himself out of the Vancouver market me thinks.
  17. This is why they're called playoffs. The Knights are a big, heavy team, and have 4 solid lines, plus 6 defensemen that play the same way. Plus, their goaltending is far superior to the Oilers. I admit they do let a bit more go during the playoffs, but, to think that McDavid should get preferential treatment because he's Connor McDavid is ridiculous. I only watched the last 7 minutes of the game last night, but game 6, Vegas had their 3rd line out, and they held the Oilers in their own zone for a complete line change, and managed to get their top line out to keep the pressure on. It was a clinic on how to play playoff hockey.
  18. This only applies to FA's. If a player is traded to Vancouver, he plays in Vancouver regardless. If a Free Agent choses to go to a market where they play less income tax, that's a whole different ballgame. Draft picks go where they're drafted, unless your name is Lindros. None of these two teams in the quarter finals, Leafs or Oilers, were built properly.
  19. 153 points mean nothing. This is the most difficult trophy in all of sports to win. All you need is a spot in the playoffs and anything could happen. It's a team game, and teams that are built for the grind, usually win. This shows you how teams can shut superstars down in the playoffs, and how teams are built. Two teams with 4-6 players earning most of the salary cap, that have AHL goalies and suspect defense shouldn't win either. That's you Oilers and Leafs. I was at the last Leaf game in Vancouver, a Canuck team that didn't make the playoffs beat them in all aspects of the game. Right now, I'd take EP over Matthews, or Marner, or Tavares any day.
