Regarding the EA, some people are deluded and completely lack perspective. Not worth engaging with them, honestly.

Truth be told, this isn't the first or last time we'll see one country invade another. I don't say this to downplay the potential humanitarian impact of this particular invasion, but there are many ongoing conflicts that media outlets have given increasingly diminishing attention to (Yemen, Syria, Ethiopia among others). I know I come off as cold by saying this, but we don't have the capacity to invest emotional energy into everything that's wrong in the world and that's okay.

I'd suggest donating to some relief and assistance charities if you want to try to help. It's not much, but it's probably the most we can do outside of protesting.

Not everyone likes advanced stats but I think they paint a pretty clear picture of what's going wrong:

5 on 5 expected goals against per 60: 2.23 (3rd)

5 on 5 save percentage: 0.8947 (31st)

5 on 5 expected goals for per 60: 2.03 (32nd)

Basically they defend well but their offense and goaltending are totally awful. The first one doesn't suprise me given their forward group and strange expansion draft choices, but I didn't think their goalies would be this bad, especially Grubauer.

I think two things can be true:

1. There's nothing wrong with caring about the WJHC. The players first and foremost care a lot, fans should be allowed to care, too.

2. You shouldn't be harrassing people online no matter what. You don't need to devalue the WJHC to take that idea to heart.

Well, they did make the right choice... eventually.
