  1. Seems like Severson is a much better fit. Just because Friedman says it or Philly wants to trade him, doesn't mean we should do it.
  2. I thought Klimovich looked really good today. Some great passes. Strong on the puck. Holds on a bit too long sometimes, but overall great. Karlsson, Gattcomb, Wolters, and Nielsen noticeable all the time. I was really impressed with Schmieman, great skater, head up, looked great.
  3. I thought Silovs was hands down the best player on the ice. Karlsson was next. Nielsen had heart and made the playe of the night. Aman, Klimovich and Wouters looked strong as well.
  4. Aman looks big and fast but didn't really get going alot at the youngstars tonight.
  5. I was at the game tonight Silovs was the best player on the ice.
  6. Looking at the Devils, they only have 1 player listed as a RW and 7 LW. They have Hamilton, Marino, and Severson . Canucks have 5 players listed as RW. NJ also has Nemec who won't be long. This leaves Reilly Walsh available. It makes too much sense for these teams to work a deal. Garland, Rathbone, 3rd Severson, Walsh
  7. From what I can tell the 1st was used by NJ to draft Shakir Mukhamadullin. So Mazanec (playing in the Czech Republic), Shakir (decent d prospect) and a 3rd. Pretty good for a top 10 NHL scorer.
  8. Kravtsov is a big no for me. He has not come anywhere near a point per game in the KHL and he is 22. A league where Brendan Leipsic, Curtis Valk, Nicklas Jensen, Markus Granlund all got close to a point per game. If he was lighting it up over there, maybe. He also seems to have a bit of an attitude.
  9. I think Garland for Severson and a 3rd would be a fair trade. Garland is signed for a great cap number for 3 more years, Severson is a UFA after this year. The 3rd would leave us with something if Severson walks. Hughes Severson OEL Myers Dermott Schenn Rathbone Poolman That is a solid top 4 with some pretty good depth.
  10. After he was drafted, a bunch of people were saying skating is a weakness for JL. Now he's the fastest skater at the World Juniors? Why aren't we talking about this more?
  11. I think in 2 years Kadri will have had 2 seasons of 65 and 54 points and 7 million for 5 more years is going to look pretty bad. I will give credit to Treliving though, he was handed a poop sandwich by those idiots Gaudreau and Tkachuk and he turned it into at least a PB&J.
  12. If Allvin could pull this off, it would be great. This would make 1 of Garland, Pearson, Hoglander, all of whom I really like, much more expendable in a trade for RHD.
  13. It seems I may differ with a lot of people, but I love OEL. Class act, great 2nd option on the power play. I think he is the best all around defenseman we have. He allowed Hughes to flourish last year. If I'm not mistaken we actually had a really good defensive record in the last 50 games once we got it all sorted. I think we would be crazy to trade OEL for Zub.
  14. I'm sure you're right, but even in Miller's best year of his life, Huberdeau had 16 more points. He and his agent would have a hard time with most GM's making the argument they are worth the same.
  15. All this talk that Huberdeau got 10.5, therefore Miller won't sign for 8 seems a little off base to me. Huberdeau has averaged 1.21 pts per game in the last 4 years. Miller has averaged .95. That is a huge difference. Also, Treliving overpaid about 10-15% and 1 year just to make a point that Calgary is not a wasteland and top players will sign there. I think he would have gotten 9-9.5 over 7 years on the open market at his age. I don't pretend to know how much Miller will sign for, but I don't think the two are as comparable as everybody else thinks.
  16. I would move Kuzmenko to the bottom of that list and below Hoglander. The rest have all proven they can perform in by far the best league in the world. Kuz has yet to prove that. Hoglander did it as a 20 year old. Kuz is 25 and hasn't played 1 game. Remember Linden Vey, Nigel Dawes, Goldobin, etc.. they all scored a lot in the KHL too. I really like Hogz and think he is much more valuable than cdc gives him credit for.
  17. We'll see with Howard, he came across like a supreme Douche, that doesn't usually go over well on hockey teams. But ya they know what they are doing.
  18. This should get people excited. It is just 1 tournament but he kicked its ass!
  19. Looking at his draft year, he compares very well to Lucas Raymond. Some seem to think he is a very good skater. I'm getting more and more pumped about this guy. Lekkermaki Rathbone Klimovich McDonough Karlsson Drops off quite a bit after that, but not too bad considering our young group with EP, Huggy, Boes, Podz, Hogs.
  20. While we need Centers and Dmen, while we need speed, and while we need size, we picked a RWer with average skating and who is small. However, I am excited that we got the BPA. I did not see him below 10 on a mock and he was as high as 7. We got him at 15, this was a brainer. They obviously like him more than Kemmel. We should be pumped EP, Quinn, Podz, Hogs, and now Maki all drafted later than they should have been.
  21. We need D and Centers. Who are the best left?
  22. I am not in the "get rid of Myers" camp. I think he is much more valuable that most on cdc give him credit for. We are in desperate need of quality RHD, so we trade our best one for someone who plays less minutes, scores less, and is a worse skater. This is to save 2.1 million. Oh, and we throw in a 3rd in a draft where we don't have a 2nd? I know many will disagree, but we are a better team with OEL Myers as a pairing than with Brendan Dillon playing 3rd D minutes. However, if a good trade comes for Myers that frees up cap space and we have a good plan to replace him with something better, I'm for it.
  23. I hope that the final straw that puts a deal over the top is them taking either Poolman or Dickinson as well. If we could clear out a cap hit and get some serious assets we are laughing.
  24. I agree, I understand that, if it is 50/50 between 2 players you might as well pick for position. It just seems like everybody is devolving into position and size and there isn't as much discussion about who will be the most talented player long term and, therefore, worth the most as an asset.
  25. I am really surprised how many people on here are so focused on drafting by position. If, every year, the team drafts the best talent they will have the assets to make trades and build the team they want.
