The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms with forward Jamal Mayers on a one-year contract extension, and defenseman Johnny Oduya on a three-year contract extension.

Mayers, 37, registered six goals, nine assists and a team-high 91 penalty minutes in 81 regular-season tilts with the Blackhawks during the 2011-12 regular-season, his first with the organization, and appeared in three Stanley Cup Playoffs contests. The Toronto native ranked third on the club with 102 hits and finished second on the roster with a 56.1% winning percentage in the faceoff circle.

Originally selected by the St. Louis Blues in the third round (89th overall) of the 1993 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Mayers has recorded 217 points (60G, 127A) and 1,184 penalty minutes in 896 career regular-season games over parts of 14 NHL seasons with the Blues (1996-2008), Toronto Maple Leafs (2008-10), Calgary Flames (2010), San Jose Sharks (2010-11) and Blackhawks. He is also a veteran of 63 career Stanley Cup Playoffs contests, notching 13 points (5G, 8A) and 32 penalty minutes.

Oduya, 30, paced Blackhawks defensemen with three assists in six games during the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and tallied five points (G, 4A) and a +3 plus/minus rating in 18 regular-season tilts with Chicago after being acquired on Feb. 27 from the Winnipeg Jets.

The Stockholm, Sweden, native has registered 114 points (23G, 91A), 222 penalty minutes and a +30 plus/minus rating in 463 career regular-season games with the New Jersey Devils (2006-2010), Atlanta Thrashers (2010-11), Jets (2011-12) and Blackhawks, along with five assists and 14 penalty minutes in 24 career Stanley Cup Playoffs contests. Originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Oduya signed with the Devils as a free agent and made his NHL debut with New Jersey in 2006. He also represented Sweden at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
