The breakdown on Revis's 2 year contract with the Pats:

2014

Cap value: $7M

Cash value: $12M

Signing bonus: $10M

Roster bonus: $500K ($33.33K per game if on 46-man roster up to 15 games)

Base salary: $1.5M

2015

Cap value: $25M

Cash value: $20M

Roster bonus-1: $12M (earned on April 1, 2015, if club exercises option prior to end of 2014 league year)

Roster bonus-2: $500,000 ($33.33K per game if on 46-man roster up to 15 games)

Base salary: $7.5M

So yeah hes getting $14M this year and theres no way in hell the Pats are paying that 2015 cap hit so they wont exercise the option and he will be a unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. At this point, its looking like they shouldnt have taken him this year. Looking at how the team is playing and their schedule they are not looking playoff bound to me and they have too many holes to fill . Theres a solid chance of them losing 5 in a row from The broncos in week 9 to the chargers in week 14. PLUS they arent beating Cinci this Sunday.

I agree on not picking up his option next season, but I disagree on 2 points.

1. I think picking him up this season was a good choice. While he isn't shutting down receivers entirely, have you noticed the Patriots have yet to get beat deep for a TD? Sure they've given up long receiving TD's which were 10 yards grabs + 50 YAC, but last season they were constantly getting beat on 40 yard throws down field. I think he and Browner will be a great tandem together and will be able to play man to man press coverage, right now there's zero trust in Logan Ryan to be able to handle that

2. They will make the playoffs. Yes they got blown out in week 4 versus a great Chiefs team that had the entire city out to that game, but one blowout loss does not mean abandon ship. They were blown out 31-0 early in the season in 04 before going on to win the Super Bowl. Many teams in recent years have had very slow starts and went on to make it to, or win the Super Bowl. Not setting those expectations for the Patriots, but they will make the playoffs.

There's still 3 months of games left, and I've seen teams get embarassed and then bouncing back, so I'm definitely not hitting the panic button anytime soon. Even if we fall to 2-3 after Sunday night, I won't panic. If we fall to 2-4, then there will be a hand placed on the panic button.

From my experiences it takes 4 years to build a good offensive line. That will include taking a left tackle over jj watt(I still think it's a good descision)

Speaking of whitch looking forward to seeing that smith watt match up on Sunday!

I agree. The thing with our O-line is, we have young linemen including 2 1st year rookies. There's a new offensive line coach this season and he decided to change their blocking scheme from what they were used to for the last 10 years. Guys like Solder and Vollmer definitely have the talent to be better than they have been, someone just needs to push the right buttons. These guys used to go to bat for Donte Scarneccia (old O-line coach who retired), I'm not sure if there's an issue between the new guy or not, but something needs to be changed soon.

Haha Nate Robinson, awesome.

"Nate Robinson: Sorry, Broncos. My Seahawks will win it all again.By Nicki Jhabvala The Denver Post Add a comment

Nuggets guard Nate Robinson was born in Seattle, went to the University of Washington and resides in The Emerald City in the offseason.

Nate Robinson is Seattle, and hes not about to apologize for rooting for his beloved Seahawks. Apparently, some at the Nuggets media day failed to understand how a Denver player could possibly root the Broncos rival:

Q: I cant believe you carried the 12th man flag against the Broncos.

Robinson: Why is that hard to believe? Im from Seattle.

Q: Its the Broncos.

Robinson: Thats fine. Hats off to the Broncos, good try last year. Better luck this year. But my Seahawks are coming to win it again. And were not friendly with any team.

Q: So its safe to say you wont be going to watch any Broncos practice then?

Robinson: I mean, as long as they let me wear my Seahawks jersey, yeah. But they probably wont like that so I probably wont attend.

Coming off one of the worst losses of his career, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on Wednesday morning acknowledged his team's struggles on offense this season, noting, "I don't think we've played well for a long time."

Brady, who was pulled early from Monday night's blowout loss to Kansas City, made the comments as his team tries to put together the pieces of an offense that turned over the ball three times against the Chiefs and is ranked 23rd in the NFL in total yardage this season.

"That's obviously going to reflect in every statistic that you can find, that we don't have the kind of offense that's going to perform at a high level," Brady said in his weekly interview on Boston sports radio station WEEI 93.7 FM. "Everyone's connected. It all ties together. If we're not playing well, we're not going to have good stats."

Brady finished the game 14-for-23 for 159 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions -- including one that Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah returned for a touchdown and ended the quarterback's night early in the fourth quarter.

Brady hasn't been the only issue on offense, however. The offensive line has not given him enough time to throw, and the team's pass-catchers have underperformed as well, save for receiver Julian Edelman.

"There is no magic play, there's no magic scheme," Brady said. "It is us as players playing better -- a lot better than we're playing."

At his Wednesday news conference, the 37-year-old Brady was asked about speculation that he is past his prime.

"I'm doing the best job I can do out there," he said. "I'll try to go out there and play better, play as well as I possibly can each week."

He also reiterated that he hasn't lost faith in the offense: "I trust all the guys in our locker room."

Coach Bill Belichick sidestepped questions when asked about the Patriots' offensive struggles Wednesday.

"We are on to Cincinnati," he said.

Asked about Brady's age, Belichick said, "We are on to Cincinnati. There's nothing about the past, nothing about the future. Right now we are preparing for Cincinnati."

Asked about whether the Patriots have given their star QB enough weapons, the coach repeated, "We are getting ready for Cincinnati. That's what we are doing."

The Pats host the undefeated Bengals on Sunday night.

Brady told WEEI that he wasn't "overanalyzing" Belichick's decision to replace him with rookie Jimmy Garoppolo in the fourth quarter.

"I just do what I'm told ...," Brady said. "We were getting our butts kicked. So it was a situation where we didn't have a good game, and that's what Coach [belichick] wanted us to do and that's what we did."

In relief of Brady, Garoppolo went 6-for-7 for 70 yards and a touchdown pass to tight end Rob Gronkowski. After that scoring strike, cameras locked in on Brady on the sideline. Unlike some of his teammates, the future Hall of Famer did not approach Garoppolo to congratulate him.

"I'm really not [aware of the cameras]," Brady told WEEI when asked about the criticism he has taken for not high-fiving Garoppolo. "When we lose there's really not a lot -- even when we win, I think it's just important to not ride the roller coaster of emotions. You have to believe in your process. You have to believe in the things that you are doing to help the team win. I think you have to take the good with the bad.

"I was happy for Jimmy. I was happy for our team. We kept fighting at the end. That's a good thing. The more good players we have, the better we will be as a team. So, I didn't pay attention to any of those things. I was obviously disappointed that the outcome of the game was what it was. It's been very frustrating all season the way that we have performed offensively. But we are trying to figure it out to become a better offense."

Brady said things "snowballed" early, leaving the team to play catch-up. He was asked whether he could place a grade on himself after the game.

"Well, I can play better," Brady told WEEI. "I think that's how I would grade it. There's decisions and things I need to do a better job of. I don't grade myself. But I know I can play better than the way I'm playing."

Brady also knows the Patriots are far from out of it.

"We are 2-2. It's not a great record. Could be worse, could be better," he said at the news conference. "And we could have played better. Could have played worse, too. We just have to find ways to do the right job."

...it's a shame the Pats can't surround Tom with the talented he needs to end of his career at the top. Broncs and Elway have given Peyton all the weapons imaginable and then some and aren't cheaping out. They're spending money and know what it'll take.

Pats on the other hand, ugghhhh...so frustrating! As much as I love the Pats way, this is probably the only thig I hate - the way they go about the business side of things. Me.Kraft said this was the worst game he's ever seen as owner but it really is his fault. Being so picky with their finance structure, they cheap out and don't pay for impact players and we've been feeling the effects of it for years now. Revis is no where close to what he used to be and he's old and can't hold up with WR's like he used to. No weapons for Brady, no o-line, no run Defense. There's no way the Pats win with how this roster is doing. Even with Browner and Tims, it's no where enough.

The sad reality of the Pats...oh well, still support them through thick and thin but man this is a bad time honestly.

And one thing I don't get is - why aren't the Pats running the ball anymore? They've clearly not been a throw-reliable team anymore as their primary source of offense. Last year, they did what they did by running it. Had they not, the season would've been pretty subpar and dissapointing. They don't have any game breakers at WR, Gronk is getting sheltered minutes, so why not just go with ol' reliable and hand it off? Beyond me really, especially with the depth they have there.

Not panicking, just curious but knowing BB, they'll have a solid comeback game most likely and make people forget what even happened versus Kansas...but even then, doesn't solve their problems and they'll go through it when they face tougher opponents whether it be in the season, if not, playoffs where they'll be knocked out in a do or die system.

They’ve been terrible when they hand the ball off. The one time it’s a 5+ yard run it comes back because of a horrible holding call since our line is trash.

Man, you know you've had it good when 2-2 and tied for the division lead is a bad time. Try sitting through 0-16 and no super bowl titles despite being there the whole era. I'm sure I can get some agreement from the couple Bills fans on here periodically.

Did you watch last year when Ridley was fumbling, bumbling and stumbling? This year he's averaging 51 yards per game and only one TD in 4 games. But no fumbles. Yet.
